I wish the review of the play hadn't killed the celebration buzz though...Once your jumping up and down gets interrupted you never really come back, regardless of the final call.

Great game....I was soaked..the crowd was electric...I wish I could have videotaped when the ref came out of the review conversation at the end and confirmed it to the crowd....dead silent and then it exploded. Golson wasn't a fan favorite in a lot of cases...THROW THE BALL AWAY!!!!...but we will all take that win. loved it...GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!

@1:50 - After throwing the game-winning TD pass (a play which he audibled into) in OT against Stanford, Rees simply unfastens his chin strap and walks off-field. No celebration. He's not the quarterback ND wants, but he's the one we've needed many times this season. Much respect.

@3:45 - Manti, "LOU, Lou... they couldn't block you. You're the best Noseguard in the whole country!"

Indeed. What a leader.

Medical staff is confident he will be cleared for Tuesday.

Change from last year to this year is we have complete running backs...can catch and run too.

Kelly: Local LDS community has welcomed ND players of that faith in South Bend

Prince Shembo is "relentless player"

Golson won't be able to do anything physically until all concussion symptoms are cleared.

Golson is done for the day. No classes this week and team meeting tomorrow.

BCS: Team watches TV, there's a sense of pride, but I don't talk about these things with them. With pride comes greater obligation.

We talk about being a championship program and let the rest take care of itself. Championship football at Notre Dame equals BCS.

Kellys says that Rees and Hendrix could play if Golson can't go.

Very concerned about Golson's turnovers this year. Must be smarter.

All of Golson's turnovers yesterday are coachable and correctable.

Tuitt stepped up and played hard on big stage yesterday. Never took a play off. It's a growth game for him.

Golic: He's made progress. He played vs a very good defense. He won some and they won some.

His false starts weren't always on the fifth year senior.

Isahq: covers some ground for us in the pass game. Gives us flexible opportunities to rush or drop into coverage.

Thanks, bery, reps. This is always much appreciated.

I'm concerned about Golson's turnovers too, but at the same time you have to give Stanford a lot of credit. Ben Gardner just blew by Troy Niklas on the fumble in the end zone (the Stanford LBs made Troy look bad at times yesterday; he's just a soph and he has some work to do to) and then Alex Carter made a great play putting his helmet on the ball. Obviously Golson has got to protect the football better but those were not the most egregious turnovers I've ever seen.

Could not agree more with the bolded. Say what you want about Tommy Rees; no one can ever say that when the game is on the line he is ever anything but ICE COLD. That's what I love about him.

Not saying he should start; I really like Kelly's approach. Approach it like baseball. Put in Golson to start because he is the most gifted QB, but when he gets in trouble you have a crafty, experienced guy you can put in to finish the game. Not to mention Rees is there to help Golson learn to read a defense and do all the things a starting QB needs to be able to do mentally. That's exactly what you want. This is why NFL teams, when they have a young star QB, typically sign an experienced veteran to back him up. It's a recipe for success.

Wait, "not the one he wants, but the one he needs?" Is that a Dark Knight reference? I might have repped you for this post if it wasn't for that ... lol

This is what I wore to the game.

I was soaked but had a blast. The crowd was awesome throughout the game but in OT it was the best I've seen it. I'm spending today re-watching the game since there are somethings you miss when there.

Bring on BYU. GO IRISH!!!!!

NBC says the Stanford-Notre Dame game pulled a 3.9 overnight TV rating, making it the highest-rated college football game of the day.

Haven't been able to get on all weekend, I had a police physical in CT so I was away from my computer all weekend. Anyways great game, I was in utter shock when they stuffed him, or at least appeared to have stuffed Taylor from scoring. GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!

My youngest son (12) was watching the game with me. He seldom watches but is getting more into the Irish this year. Bandwagoning I suppose. One thing he did ask me was "when does Notre Dame have announcers that actually like them and not the other team?" I told him its always that way and I have gotten used to it. It sure would be nice to have some Domer homers calling the NBC games.

You could introduce him to a thing called the radio. :)

There is nothing quite like the homer radio callers. I miss them. I dont want balance and color commentators. I want the homerism from the live radio feed.
