We run the table, Oregon runs the table, Alabama runs the table.

Who gets into the NCG?

Depends on how much Oregon beats USC by in the PAC12 championship game versus how much we beat USC by to close out the year. Whoever is more impressive would likely get the nod.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves though......

Alabama and Oregon would play for the NC if that were the case. ND would be outside looking in. I do not see how ND would jump either of them in any poll.

Both of them having a conference championship game while Dame sits idle would push them both into the NCG.

With how we are doing in the computer polls, conceivably we could jump Oregon. Of course, the Pac-12 is pretty great this year and an undefeated Oregon would have a bunch of quality wins as well. It would be very hard to see an undefeated ND left out of a championship game but this seems like the year it would happen in this scenario.

Alabama vs Oregon..

ND getting the next top bowl game.

I don't have a problem with that either.

if we did get shafted out of the nc game could there be a chance we could still get a share of it like the condoms did in 03

I love being 5-0, but threads like this scare me. I know it's different for us fans, but I like taking it one week at a time just like the team. Don't want to jinx all this!

Oregon and Alabama, and rightly so.

In the past, we got the "automatic" nod over some teams that were also deserving of some high profile bowl games. We (the fan base) maintained that it was only fair, because the Irish had been so successful, for so long... whereas the other team was a bit of a "johnny-come-lately". Well, in your scenario, Oregon and Alabama each have a decade or more of consecutive play at a high level, while this would be our first year of high level play in quite some time. It would suck, but it would be fair.

Nothing we do has any effect on the team brotha.
Just speculation.

This is the exact scenario BCS Czar and SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer had in mind when setting up the BCS. The conference champions get the benefit of a post season extra game to boost them in both the beauty contests (polls) and the computer models. Oregon would have an extra game as would Bama. Any 12-0 Independent or Non AQC team gets 3rd at best.

We better not talk about this, because our thoughts will somehow effect the outcome of the games. It's like the butterfy effect

I don't know why Oregon would play in our spot, once the season ended, our strength of schedule would be much better than Oregon. Furthermore, college football is about money. A Bama v Notre Dame NCG would be one of the biggest college football events in my entire life. It would easily be the best ratings a college football game ever got.

Who gets into the NCG?

ND v Oregon AND Alabama. Kelly calls on Ditka to drive the team bus, which he crashes with all 4 tires sticking into the side of a building. Only Teo and Ditka make it to the game on time. In a squeaker first half, it's Teo/Ditka up 24-0, until the rest of the team arrives at halftime. Final score, ND 60 Oregon/Alabama 3.

Odds are good that we'd still have a stronger SoS than Oregon, even with their conference championship game. That, on top of the "ND is back"/ Manti storylines and our vastly superior marketability would propel us into the NCG.

Oregon and Alabama. It might actually help us by pasting whoever we would play in the bowl game instead of getting beat in a close game by Alabama or Oregon from a recruiting standpoint and for next year.

Bring Bama on!

It would all come down to SoS I think, we honestly don't know what ND or Oregon's SoS will be at the end of the year.

I think ORE would be left in the cold in that scenario....you mean an undefeated ALA and an undefeated ND would be passed up for undefeated ORE vs ALA for the NC? ...i think if ALA and ND are undefeated, that is the dream matchup with ORE playing the boise st. role.
