Nothing. But they haven't looked terrible... not even close. Have you actually watched any of their games? Their only loss was to KSU by a couple of points after a couple really unlucky breaks... and KSU is the truth.

I really doubt Oklahoma would have trouble stopping LSU when AUBURN stopped LSU.... not to mention Towson for the majority of the game...

Even ignoring the *** kicking they were given by Florida's defense (because Florida D > OU) there is no way you can look at what LSU has done this year and say "that's a top 10 team!" I would expect them to get beat by almost all teams in the top 15. Pumping LSU is nothing but blind homerism towards the SEC or carryover from their dominance last year. Their offense still sucks and their defense is FAR worse.

Yes I have seen Oklahoma play did you watch the utep game?

LSU kept turning the ball over and stopping themselves the last few games. But its not the offense that kills people its the d. Its really hard to pass the ball against LSU because of how good those DE's are.

Wow... which writer from LA and Baton Rouge? That's despicable. 14 and 15? With the #2 defense in the country? Without warmup games? That's straight haterade.

SEC Kool-aid. Have to keep up their image.

Scott Wolf is a L.A. writer not LA.
Glenn Guilbeau is the BR writer

Correct, I neglected the two periods not thinking about the mixup. Mea culpa.

Wolf, from Los Angeles, has been voting ND negatively in the polls consistently.

I don't usually use twitter to belittle people, but that beat writer from Baton Rouge deserved it. I feel better after putting him on blast. I encourage you all to do the same.

i know that the BCS is a combination of polls, but is there another factor added in? if not, could someone crunch those numbers to put together a "theoretical BCS?"

I mean seriously this LSU beat writer voted Washington in at 13. Is this a joke to him. How does he get a vote that actually means something. I'm beyond pissed about this

For BCS purposes ND is #5 in Sagarin. The BCS uses his ELO_Chess Model, the one in Red at his site. ELO_Chess is PC as it does not include Margin of Victory (ND got credit for a 1 point win over Miami by that model).

However, his Predictor Model which Sagarin considers most accurate and does include MOV (ND kicking Miami's butt) has ND at #4.

If don't like his voting, you can vote a writer worst voter each week at that site. I've been alternating between Gilbeaux and Wolf as their ballots are consistently poor. They're either biased or don't pay attention to the games.

If a writer is rated worst overall at end of season does he lose his vote?

Just wondering if the voter polling has any affect as it its first time I have heard about this.

No guarantee, as the the AP and Pollspeak are separate entities.

The AP, Associated Press, selects the writers (voters) each year for the poll. The AP does remove writers on ocassion but it's an internal procedure.

Pollspeak/Pollstalker is a separate website which tracks polls.

Yes I have seen Oklahoma play did you watch the utep game?

Yeah... a game they eventually won by 3 scores... in the first game of the season where it is quite common for teams to have performances non-indicative of their actual skill/potential. DID YOU SEE FLORIDA AGAINST BOWLING GREEN? Based on that showing and using the logic you want me to use on Oklahoma, Florida REALLY sucks. See how flawed that logic is?

Yeah... Towson had soooooooooo much trouble against LSU..................

Yes I saw both games and I think Oklahoma would struggle to move the ball vs LSU because of their DE's.

I see pretty much every LSU game they play, including the standard SEC slate of powder-puffs. While they both have the potential to become monsters, their DEs are massively overrated today. Montgomery is big enough to hold up at the point of attack and has the athleticism and skills to be a strong pass rusher, but he's not put it together this season. Mingo had 1 sack all season heading into this game. One! And he's horribly undersized. He's very good in pursuit and you can't run swings to his side, but he gets absolutely blown up on runs right at him. Last season, the playmakers in the secondary and the solid LBs covered the blemishes of those two. This season, Mathieu, Claiborne, Taylor and Brooks are all gone from the secondary; Reid is playing a different role that's hamstrung his ability to make plays; and Simon has taken a step back. On top of that, their LB play has been mediocre -- probably the result of having so-so LB recruiting classes from about 2009-2011.

With those losses, LSU's D has noticeably declined. They're still in the upper echelon, but they're not competitive with Bama's D. A team like OU could absolutely move the ball on them.
