I am not so into the gangster rap music track. That being edited out, I don't see much difference in his hitting than Deebs, other than Deeb may be in a tougher league.

IMO, Alex is more athletic. And bigger. Watch him stride in this video. Really good speed.

I was comparing Deebs to the kid from Il, Antonio Morrison, that Allgator brought up. I will not compare one ND recruit to another, preferentially.

But I see where it got confusing. This is AA's thread, and I don't think AA's competition is any tougher than Antonio Morrison's.

Coach Meyer called Alex and they talked for a bit. Meyer didn't force anything on Alex just says that there is always a spot at OSU for him if anything happens. -- Alex says there is no ill will towards Meyer

I wouldn't think Meyer would quit on him. But as long as AA harbors hopes of becoming the next Manti Te'o, I'd bet we're fine. Who the hell plays MLB for Ohio State?

Ryan Shazier. He is a stud and will play in the NFL.

Then, there's these guys:

Sorry. My bad. I was a bit carried away by the events of the last week. But Shazier's not Teo. And I don't see Anzalone tweeting about how awesome it'd be to follow in the footsteps of James Laurinaitis.

Before this goes too far, Diaco is visiting a recruit in a week when a number of visits are being made. Implying anything else seems like a reach.

Am I missing something?

I only follow notre dame recruiting so I am asking if other schools have to go to these lengths to keep kids? Is there any insight to why we thought he might be visiting florida? Is staff just taking advantage of the bye week and making their preemptive rounds?

Correct. Sapp was the one that mentioned though that the staff is monitoring the situation and are trying to sway him from visiting Florida. Alex is still not sure if he will or not.

To be clear he is still a solid commit, the thought though is that they want to keep it that way and visits to other schools could jeopardize that.

We've heard about the Florida rumors for about a month now, and just a week or two ago, he tweeted how humbling it is that he'll be wearing #5 for the Irish next year. TIFWFW, but I assume the coaches are just making routine visits as you can never know what will happen in recruiting, and out of 'drama' or speculation, they mention it's to keep him from visiting FLA.

Isn't this where ALLGATOR chimes in about how he would make a better H-back and includes some sort of back-handed compliment towards ND and/or Alex as a LB?

The coaches at Florida love Alex their just not "in love" with him.

something along those lines

Trying to sway a kid from taking a visit just doesn't sound like this staff's MO. AA has been to Gainesville plenty of times before, so I can't imagine he needs another visit there in order to de-commit from ND.

If the kid is going to decommit, I would rather he take the FL visit and do it right away. That way the ND coaches, with limited spots left but quite a few remaining targets, can focus on other positions of need. Take that visit and really determine where you want to be for the next four years. It would hurt a little if it happened on Nov. 1, but even more if it happened on NSD.
