I think JOSH Augusta had a little work to do in the classroom yet. Believe GITF brought that up in his thread, but I'm not 100% on that.
Word could be correct.

Also, no one seems to be mentioning Boyd. ND is probably #2 on his list at the moment.

I still think that if we land Randolph, Mattingly may end up switching to TE once he's here.

Yep, this idea is growing on me, after seeing how we used our TE's on Saturday. Let Heuerman play the Eifert/Koyack role and let Mattingly play the Niklas role.

I really want both Hooper and Muhammad. Different players with different strengths who could both be very effective.

I want two of Moore/Alexander/Luke, and I can't decide which two. All three are great.

That leaves room for Hunter Jr. or K. Muhammad, but probably not both. Tough call if we have to decide between them. I like both, and I think we need both (a) a dynamic, playmaking receiver who can play either slot or the T.J. Jones spot (what is that, X or W?) and (b) a small, quick, fast running back, to complement Mahone and Jamel James (if we don't get one, then we have to rely on a sophomore to play that role when Mahone is a senior, right?)

I generally agree:

2 more DLs
2 more DBs
1 more RB
1 more WR or hybrid RB

Some sort of combination of these guys
D. Randolph
A. Muhammad
A. Hooper
K. Muhammad
M. Alexander
L.J. Moore
T. Boyd
Get most of these guys, and I'll be super happy (with all of our current commits). I think it got to be one of the best classes we ever had, with the combination of off the field and the relationships these guys have. This class could be special.

I still think a true DE is needed in this class, I dont know if Muhamad is big enough. Any possibility that Mattingly could switch to DE? Hes got a pretty big frame.

Does anyone think ND will receive a commitment this weekend.

I certainly think there are some contenders for that to happen. Win the game and euphoria will be infectious! You have guys like LJ and Khalfani that could pop and an outside shot at Luke! I guarantee if we win these kids will get the itch to because South Bend will be rockin!

Mike says there are 4 spots left in the class with one likely going to a punter. Also says there has been some increased interest in ND from some "bigger fish" that haven't exactly been on the radar. He didn't name names but was told some elite kids have been calling the staff to see where they stand.

If we're almost full and starting to get interest, IDK the 5th year situation, but I'm all for bringing on younger, elite talent for 4 years rather than keep a 5th year player for a year.

Dunno, we might get some transfers to open up more spots. We can definitely take 4 if Cierre Wood goes pro... which I expect him to do unless he has an injury. It would be incredibly short sighted to use a scholarship on a punter.... there has to be a couple guys they could get as walk-ons and let them earn a scholarship if there's one available.

I'm interested to see how having Keil and Golson on the roster and so close in age works out if Golson keeps doing what he's doing.

Back to really entertaining discussions. All of a sudden no CB in the 4 left. Surely .............

Yeah, Sapp has been saying we no longer are looking to take a punter. Either things have changed or Sapp is wrong or Frank is wrong, I guess

Agree, our situation is unique, but how we keep 5 qb's on scholarship is crazy. I still see Rees and possibly Kiel leaving in 14 when Golson wins us a national title in13 :)

imo we can't afford to take less than 2 corners this cycle. after that i say you take a pass rusher (muhammad) and the first come first served b/t an elite wr, DB, DL. take that for what it's worth, but i think we definitely need atleast 2 more corners this cycle

FWIW, Sapp and Wiltfong don't think we'd accept Khalfani's commitment until we know what's up with Folston. They said the only commitments we'd accept among the 2013 visitors this weekend are L.J. Moore, Cole Luke and Torii Hunter. They don't predict that any of those three will pop, as they have other visits to take, but I guess you never know. Moore and Hunter seem to have the interest level
