If Marcell Harris goes to Florida McQuay will be going to Vandy.

Per TomVH:

Michigan, USC and Vanderbilt made the cut, and it's due largely to their music departments.

"Leon and his coach came up with the list. He's chasing the music thing and those three schools have the best music programs," said his father, Leon Jr. "If that's something that he's chasing then I can only be happy for him."

@BigCountyPreps1: Rumors about Leon McQuay being pretty set on a certain a school. I don't think that's so true.

Per 247 Top 3 is still USC, Vandy, UM. OV to USC, Vandy, UM, Oregon & ND.

Considering UM & USC are near full & Vandy has always been in his top group consider him a heavy Vandy lean IMO

USC, Vanderbilt, and Florida State

He cut Michigan out of his list

He said it is really between Vandy and FSU because USC is almost full

Notre Dame and Oregon will still get official visits.

He cut Michigan because they couldn't hold a spot for him if he didn't commit soon, which he isn't ready to do.

He'll be cutting USC next, unless he wants to speed up his timetable. Sapp says Tahaan Goodman is going to commit this week, and he'll take USC's last spot.

Vandy has been his leader the whole time. His dad was the one who liked Florida.

“@joshnewberg247: I'm told Leon McQuay III and his family are still debating to announce tomorrow or not. Could happen, will know shortly.”

According to Leon McQuay III's father, there will be no announcement tomorrow night anymore.

Guessing they were rushing to commit to USC, but didn't get there fast enough? No reason to rush if USC is full.

According to Farrell on Rivals, McQuay wanted to commit to USC. They filled up, so he's taking the process out longer based on his dad's input. Vanderbilt is in the lead by quite a bit. Vandy is followed by FSU, ND, and Oregon. Expect an OV this fall.

wow...just think if vandy had an actual on field product to sell...they're doing some serious work recruiting.

It has nothing to do with the total number of scholarships available (75) its about the 15 per year limit (3 EE go to last year and 15 for this year). So taking aways someone's scholarship already on the team wouldn't help.

Let's hope that doesn't happen. The pool of talented and academically qualified athletes is small enough as it is. Few things would damage ND's long term prospects for success more than Vandy, NW, Duke, etc. having a Stanford-esque rise to prominence.

If ND starts out 4-0, they could be back in the running. I hope ND beats Michigan like a drum, and finishes the efing game.

JC Shurburtt was on Bill King's show and listed USC, Vandy and FSU as teams in the mix. No mention of ND at this point, but obviously that could change if Leon does take an official.

It's funny when his dad talks to media he always mentions ND but Leon never does.
