...I don't know if it was the camera angles or what, but I was watching the UND.com practice vids...when I saw CB run away from the defender on the crossing route, and when GAIII turned the corner...Spontaneous Loud WOOO just came out of me...

Thats Just "what the hell was that" speed/acceleration right there.

PHG I'm with ya. I've been WOOOing just thinking about the new WRs, and the improved overall team speed. I just hope what you saw is truly indicitive to their phenomenal speed instead of lack of speed or bad coverage from our DBs :)

All this talk about improved team speed has me very excited about this season. I'm very impressed with Chris from everything I've been reading. I think Chris will be that deep threat speedster that we've been lacking for some time.

Is Chris Brown starting?

It's not clear. Kelly literally said he was starting, but from the context its not clear if he was intending to say that he will be starting Game 1. What it really sounded like he was saying is that there are some up-and-comers that bring something to the table and will definitly be seeing the field.

Wait an effin minute. All of a sudden many of you guys are starting to get stupid with freshman fever.

A) Everybody is playing, lots of bodies this year, IT IS THE FIRST AND MOST DECISIVE THING KELLY SAID.

B) This freshman thing is out of hand because they will just get broken if they are thrown to the wolves.

C) Why in the hell don't you think your sophs, juniors, and seniors have made huge strides also?

D) Success for this team is going to be throwing a thousand looks at teams, then exploiting discovered weaknesses; celebrate diversity.

E) The function of these awesome freshmen is to increase the level of play of the whole TEAM!!! It ain't about getting back to old CW's cult of the personality. Oh, this guy is going to save us, etc, etc, vomit.

F) You all are sending your expectations through the roof. I can see it; you are just going to disappoint yourselves.

I would be shocked, and upset, if Goodman was starting at year's end.

John Goodman is gonna prove the hatas wrong imo.

With that said, brown daniels and Neal will be seeing minutes too.

I would only be slightly shocked but not upset.

Goodman has a tremendous amount of athleticism and speed to go along with his long frame. I think he is too much of a thinker when he is in the game which slows him down and cuts down on his ability. If he lets loose this year and gets a lot of TD's I will not be upset if he is our starter.

I always like rooting for the seniors though. Especially when they put it all together for their final year. Watching Jonas Gray last year was something special.

Chris will be a master of the zen art of "soft" blocking. If the safety is chasing Chris, he will not be tackling Davonte.

Its good he is getting experience and he will eventually be very good to great. He needs to work on blocking as well he did miss a big block. He will be a good deep threat soon.

So I started a NCAA 13 dynasty and got offered the ND job after two years with Ohio and a year with UCLA. In my second ND season Chris Brown was a RS Senior. He proceeded to have over 1900 yards receiving, 28 receiving TDs, returned to 2 missed FGs for TDs, and had over 2000 return yards including 6 kickoffs returns for TDs and 4 punt return TDs. This single season for the ages won him the 2016 Heisman.

He finished with over 4100 total yards and 40 TDs in a single season.

We can only hope.

You can return missed FGs for TDs in NCAA '13?

Yep they are considered fum recoveries, fum return yards, and defensive TDs.

They mostly come on field goal attempts of 50+ yards. I always pick FG block return as my play and it puts your deep back in the endzone. Devin Hester did the same for the Bears and returned one for like 106 yards (or something crazy like) for a TD.
