This is great news! Wouldn't hurt to get a 2nd RB in this class especially one with Corey's potential!

Is the staff still chasing Khalfani and Folston? Any of the 3 to go along with James will do just fine! I'm a little concerned about the depth for next year.

I would like Folston before Clement personally. Just because I see Corey as another powerback similar to Jamel James, while I consider Folston speed and able to play the hybrid position.

I'm pretty sure Clement is faster than Folston. Maybe not as agile but I think he's faster. Which one has better ball skills? Also, can they be recruited as athletes with the ability to play multiple positions? Russell is probably encouraging the staff to try and get rbs who can play corner and guys who can also play receiver because that's what they need.

This is how I felt until recently. Clement himself reinforces this view when he talks about how he thinks he belongs in a pro style offense. But Sapp mentioned the other day that the staff thinks he could a good slot WR for us.

24/7 moved Corey up to the #122 player and #10 RB in the nation today.

He and James would be a homerun class, IMO.

At this point, we stack-up well with the competition (Pitt, Wisc., Neb.)

With limited spots is it fair to assume that they take Clement or Muhammad but not both?

btw I've been on this kid since I first saw his film. he was late to the recruiting process, but the kid is a stud. he was FSU's second choice at RB behind Green.

I think we would only take 1. Taking 3 running backs in this class is a little much IMO.

We have other positions we need to fill up

Agreed.

It will still take a lot to flip this kid. He has stated from the beginning he would take all 5 visits to be sure Pitt was the place for him, and made sure Pitt got the last one. I think he winds up there when all is said and done, but like we always say just get the kid to ND and anything can happen, especially with the expected atmosphere this weekend.

And hopefully us embarrassing Pitt.

Just me, or was he rather chippy towards Jamel James in that piece? I respect the self-confidence, and I suspect there'll be room for both. But it'd be interesting to be a fly on the wall when they chat this weekend.

Yeah that was interesting to read. I wonder if that's really the case. Just my opinion, but I like James a little bit better. I trust our staff's scouting abilities though. If they like Corey better, then so do I. I just wonder if they actually told him that he was first priority or if that's all in his head. Either way, it can't hurt us that he thinks he's the top back on our list

That quote gave me some serious pause. We don't need kids who think they are getting something before they get here.

On the other hand, you hear that with a lot of pro-style RBs. Traditional running games have a feature back, and recruits do not want to be recruited as the back-up. It's more like QB that way.
