You're telling me Tony had his belly showing? I didn't catch that. Pics or it didn't happen.

Bump, since everybody else who played well is getting recognized tonight. Tony played well tonight and even had a solo sack. Its incredible that we have this much depth at DT/DE, and Tony is going to do nothing but improve for the next 4 years. This D-line is pretty incredible right now and everybody except for KLM who plays significant minutes has at least 2 more years left of eligibility at a minimum. This is going to be a position of strength for the forseeable future.

Springman, a new cult favorite. Now if he can only turn those flowing ginger locks into dreads somehow.....

Listed at 284 lbs on the spring roster. Down nearly 20 lbs since last year. Hopefully this corresponds to an increase in speed and agility that will allow him to play a more DE role than NG (hes too tall). We all know how well Manti did last year after dropping 15-20 lbs and becoming a lighter and more agile defender. He definitely had the strength last year, but seemed to lack the agility to play the end position effectively. I can't see him losing any strength so this weight drop most likely means that he has tried to make himself more versatile in order to maintain consistent reps on a very very talented DL.

Yep, I think this is right. Kelly said today in his post-practice comments that Springmann is a guy who can move inside if necessary but who they really like at DE.

Springman basically was a DE last year anyways. I don't recall ever seeing him at nose.

The weight loss is interesting to me. I thought he looked pretty quick last year and that his weakness was strength.

And that follows what I have heard; that he is faster and stronger than last year. We can go damn near 6'6" across the front if we want, and get some hands up!
