I actually thought he did very well passing the ball. Yes he did make a few bad throws but what QB doesn't. I know he wants to throw first but he makes the choice to run a little late.

Everett had the second best opening day at ND Stadium of any rookie. He also is rated higher in efficiency, if I understand correctly than anybody on our schedule except Matt Barkley.

Thanks for the info Jimmy, but for the record if the hand was perfectly fine I still applaud the move of bringing Tommy in, in that situation in that game.

I for one would not be, I think every decision has risks, this one sure did. Tommy could have made a bad throw or been rusty and ineffective but I think given where we are with EG's development it was a better than 50-50 decision. I would not want Coach's head for that. Knowing now what we know about EG's hand it almost becomes a no brainer from Coach's perspective.

A poster on another site (DD) is saying EG has not taken any live snaps this week and that Tommy may be getting the start. Anyone hearing anything like this? Hopefully it is either precautionary or misinformation...

Has anyone else noticed Golson never throws the football with his hand on the laces. I kept noticing it everytime I saw a pic of him throwing so I did a google image search and it looks like he has never used the laces. I couldn't think of another QB that throws like that.

It's been discussed. Golson has always done it, and Kelly generally likes QB's that do. There was even a bit of practice footage where you could here Kelly say that laces were "for high school, not for the Division I scholarship QB at Notre Dame."
