Haven't beaten a Top 10 team in seven years (Michigan in 2005) and are 0-10 in last 10 road night games against Top 10 teams (last victory was in 1983).

We beat the hell out of them last year and we are a better team this year. The past is the past brother.

Looking back on Saturday's game two things stick out to me:
1. O-Line play. No need to go into any further detail.
2. Why are we not attacking the middle of the field with our slots and more importantly w/Eifert. I recognize the obvious mismatch he presents to corners but his speed and agility is equally a mismatch for LBs.

Picking up what WhosaWild is laying down...

BK - We're happy to be 2-0. The film shows that we did not play our best football but I'm pleased with the outcome

We're excited about the challenge of #10 MSCU but they need to focus on themselves.

Staff could have done a better job of planning to run the ball against Purdue.

Nix was terrific and played at a championship level against Purude - as well as Zeke Motta

We know what kind of game MSU is going to be - ND must play good run defense to win and they will be tested.

2011 game was about winning up front and this game will be the same.

The defense must get a reasonable amount of time to get set - but reasonable can mean many things.

Golson is a work in progress in terms of the two-minute offense

Golson realizes he's taking a while to get plays in as well. (the one thing that drove me nuts during the game)

Rees was down the two minute road before and Golson wasn't ready for it yet...Rees filled in quite well

Daniels is coming on and understands what it takes to be a day-to-day success. Limited for now with ankle.

Davonte Neal loves being the punt returner

ND was in four punt safes against Purdue - never got into a return situation (we noticed)

Toughness is built all year around. It's developing every day and is needed every week with our schedule.

Road games need maturity from the players who focus on the job at hand.

Cierre Wood being back is another weapon on offense to try and get the big chunk plays

No new concerns today that were not there two weeks ago.

We work on tackling all the time and will continue so during the season.

Cornerback play didn't panic him - he was confident going in against Purdue and we were pleased (guessing Russel and/or Bennett)

I believe it is because we have a 1st year starting sophomore at the QB position.

I get your cheeky point, but why have a guy who can't throw to 2/3 of the field. We may have Golson's legs but at least Tommy could throw the whole field. Also doesn't lend credit to Kelly's reputation as a QB builder. IDK, just don't like the idea of living off of back shoulder fades and comeback routes. Hopefully EG can progress enough to open up the whole field.

Everett can throw the whole field. Tommy is the one who couldn't.

Not really, press conference stuff.

Herbstreit after the interview made comments about Golson and Rees; Golson is the guy but thinks Kelly will use Rees in situations where Rees' experience fits the situation better, ie. 2 mins. Doesn't mean Golson can't, just hasn't developed those skills to a level of Rees, but he'll get there.

Sounded pretty positive in that it makes sense for Kelly to use the best player for the circumstance.
