This thing isn't even close to over I don't even think MA has a clue where he wants to go. This one will be over on signing day

Nice to lead right now. But I want his commitment before I get too excited. Coaching staff needs to stay on this kid and not let some other team sneak in and get him.

I have been saying for months that we land Mackensie. A big part of this is because of this run down.

It has been commented that Notre Dame has a difficult mission in recruiting south Florida football players. Rural communities such as Belle Glade, Pahokee, and Immokalee produce some gifted athletes that prefer committing to in state schools. The fact is that many of these athletes are not prepared for the Notre Dame experience. Notre Dame as an academic/social destination is just too intimidating. It is an experience beyond their comfort level. In the recruitment of Immokalee's MacKensie Alexander, Notre Dame has some advantages. His coach, Jerrod Ackley has built a disciplined and structured football program, and his players know that Coach Ackley has their backs in the recruiting process. MacKensie's extended campus visit would have included input from Coach Ackley. Keep in mind, Coach Ackley has been on campus. He was invited by Brian Kelley to be a guest speaker at last summer's high school coach football camp. Another advantage in MacKensie's recruitment to Notre Dame would be defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks. While at Wisconsin, Cooks recruited Immokallee's Aaron Henry to play for the Badgers. This past season, Henry was not only a first team Big Ten safety, but also awarded academic Big Ten as well.

HUGE NEWS. Mack talks to Alford about 4-5 times a week. The only setback is distance from home.

The 247 guy said Bama, Boise and Clemson are battling for the second spot. The whole staying home thing doesn't look too important.

Moving away from home is one of the more important experiences of college, at least I think so. Of course not everybody agrees but it forces a degree of independence. Makes one see their priorities a little clearer.

It's not like you never go home

Let's not get carried away just yet. Sapp set himself this past week that Mack's heart is at ND but he isn't sure if he can wrap his head around being that far away from home. He also said playing with his brother will weigh heavy on him when the time comes. Obviously this is big but I hope everyone doesn't start thinking he is ours.

FSU must have pissed them off with the way they treated his brother.

I have a feeling he will have a couple more leaders before he makes his decision. Im not sure this kid knows what he wants right now and thats perfectly fine.

He must have watched our game because he said we looked good and the only thing we need is some help on D. He didn't say "ND has a slight lead". He said throughout the article "ND is my clear-cut leader". Very encouraging.

Apparently you did not read any post on the prior page, the post were not directed at MA. It was in regards to comments between ALLGATOR, Jmunsirish, and GITF. I'm not saying MA is not going to take his talents to ND just that most kids from Immokalee HS are not usually heading to a school for academics. Immokalee HS is rated a 3 out of 10 as far as High Schools go and are not known for their talents in the classroom but rather their talents on the field. All things point to MA being the exception to the rule and I hope he is, he is my #1 most wanted recruit.

I've read absolutely every post in this thread, how does your pointing out who was saying something change the meaning of what they said and the validity of my opinion about what they said? I really am not trying to be argumentative, and I understand and understood that they were not talking about MA per se but Immokalee in general. As I said before in my post, I don't see how the history of Immokalee has any bearing on MA's decision. His decision will be about him not any past history.

Just curious. Who wrote the story? Was it Sapp or a 247 guy from down in Florida?

Probably why Boise is in there.

it is something about Boise's DB coach or defensive coordinator coaching in the NFL

Just an assumption considering his brother is weaker academically and on the field. If I remember reading correctly, his brother can't get in ND. I'm sure his brother gets more attention from Boise than Alabama...
