great get by USC.

Would be great to recruit like USC. Must be nice just be able to offer a high 4* kid out of state that already has 20+ offers and then just watch him commit on the spot.

Tore his ACL. 85% chance Kiffin pulls his scholly like he did with York last year.

Will be interesting to follow this. Prime opportunity to put our Kiffin hypothesis to the test. I'm not too worried about being proven wrong.

I doubt they will pull his offer, might ask him to greyshirt or enroll early instead.

1) Grayshirting is pulling a scholarship. You tell a kid "You're not good enough anymore so you have to earn it again AFTER you pay $40,000 to attend USC. Even then we might decide to **** you over."

You'll find that this board is not fond of "grayshirting".

2) Kiffy won't have him early enroll. It's the only way he can skirt the sanctions and he certainly wouldn't be caught dead letting an injured player take a spot if he likely won't be able to contribute in August of that year.

Eldridge, even though you're currently a U$C commit, I feel badly for you. Just know that if that sack of sh!t coach pulls the scholarship that you earned, other schools would love to have you.

you obviously don't understand what grayshirting is.

If they asked him to grayshirt, it wouldn't cost him anything.

He would not enroll with the 2013 class but instead enroll at the end of that season, allowing him to save a year of eligibility that he might have otherwise spent redshirting because of his acl tear.

His offer would still be valid, only thing that would be changed would be when he enrolled at USC: December 2013 instead of June 2013.

IIRC they did it with the last class, with a DE prospect who tore his acl. Saving a year of eligibility and then he enrolled last spring.

Kiffin is still pulling his scholarship for this year though. And if just buys him time to not honor it if Eldridge doesn't come back 100%.

As a side note, you may want to show a little more respect before you start spouting off about how little some posters know or don't know.

your lack of knowledge as to what grayshirting required correcting.

furthermore its debatable if it is pulling a kids scholarship, its a gray area.

why do other school's fans come to this board to act like this. If they want to have civil conversation and contribute thats fine, but theres no need to come on here and flex your e-muscle

Everything is debatable. Doesn't mean it's right though. It's a diick move.

i think a way around the greyshirt thing without having to pay full price for school at the chosen school would be to juco for a year...maybe i'm wrong, but i think that's a trick they've played in cbus before.

I was on their premium Rivals board this morning, and A LOT of their fans are already saying that USC should move on, by either dropping him altogether or grayshirting him (a popular practice in the SEC) for a year. To be fair, there are many fans that are saying they should honor his scholly, but you'd be surprised (oh wait, it's USC, you wouldn't be surprised) by how many people are wanting to be rid of him, under the guise that he shouldn't have been camping at another college school and basically it serves him right. Oh, and it also is just a coincidence that he was underwhelming at recent camps. Riiiiiiight.

There's even a thread wondering if they should give his scholly to another WR who just chose Tennessee (he would have chosen USC if they had a scholly for him).

youdontknowmorethanus, do some research and see how a real school (ND) handles a verbal who suffers a severe injury, and then compare it to what your fans want to do to the kid. What you guys want to do is pathetic and everything that is wrong with college athletics, and if you do that you might as well make it official and join the SEC...

Is that the one where he goes across the country smashing trolls that wanna disrespect his book, and then you find out at the end that he was blind? If so, good flick.

Edit: No idea how that emoticon got in there.

I changed it for you, but then it made me laugh so much (because I was expecting you to come after me hard when I saw that angry emoticon) that I had to keep on there...

LOL...that's what I was thinking! I'm thinking that I came to a ND fan's defense, you've always been a good poster, and then I see an angry red face at the top of your post. And then your post was nothing like I expected it to be LOL...
