Have a good feeling about Alexander.

What are you saying Domelover? Last time you had a feeling it cost Wooly and Irishog some vInero. Maybe a little double or nothing? Just throwing it out there.

I like the way you think. I'll hold off until the picture gets a little clearer before any bets though. haha

I'm with you Larry. I think some people are underestimating the importance of the visit we got from him. And what connectthedots said a week or so ago was pretty solid about the coach and program at his high school.

Supposedly a former coach at his high school joined the Kentucky staff a couple of years ago.

I found where I read this info and it was from a volnation board. Here is the quote, the guy took a graduate assistant job with Kentucky.

One of his former coaches took at GA job there last year and may get promoted if Joker makes it out of this year.

Philly, I just saw on Rivals his top 4 so I came to check it out and sure enough you were all over it.

I like our chances in that list barring any Robert N. type demands from Mac with Clemson, that is of coarse if they have any spots remaining with all his teammates lining up already!

^better look for you ;)

I'm cautiously optimistic about Alexander. Don't want to get my hopes up to be slammed back to the ground but it would be epic if ND could land Alexander. Before all the chaos, ND had Darby and Tee last year...two potentially phenomenal DBs. No question ND could have a chance with Alexander and if the IrishMob gets involved maybe make Vernon take a hard look...heck he is already visiting. Locking down Alexander/Vernon/Kinlaw/Butler is somewhat of a pipedream but there is that chance.

If you had all four of Vernon, Mac, Kinlaw, and Butler, there would certainly be a lot of position movement going on. Not all 4 would stay at corner.

I agree that they would not all stay at corner, who do you think would move around and play another position?

I can understand that but since DB is rather thin you could very well all stay there but some could move to safety like Kinlaw with his height or he could even go to O and play WR essentially giving ND their 3rd WR.

I don't think we get Hargreaves.

I do think we get Alexander.

If I'm thinking optimistically I could see us getting LJ Moore

Can somebody explain to me why DB's aren't lining up to play behind this front seven? I know these guys are interested but you can see something special is going on in South Bend IN again and if you do it big there, you become legendary. All the pieces are there minus depth at the CB position. Sorry for my rant it's just confusing to me.

A true concern for me moving forward as well... this seems the only piece that isn't where you want it to be...

well, that and keeping a class together...

ND is getting interest from the elite DBs...serious or not we will see soon.

But there are tons of factors to consider but to isolate one potential factor is that kids may see themselves as the next Haden or Peterson or Claiborne not necessarily as the next Blanton or Smith ---give them credit though.

The problem is most other programs these elite DB's are considering also have great front 7's, and have had that advantage for quite some time, thus putting more DBs into the NFL more recently and with obviously greater exposure. ND fights this by harping on their tried and true recruiting pitches, but not until very recently have we had the front 7 to flaunt to these kids, and it is going to take a couple to take the plunge before we will be able to use our DBs success as a pitch (as we do with most notably the TE position).

Best bet but is he likely? I sure hope so cuz man this kid is the difference in us getting more kids with his skill at the CB position for the future. We just need one to start a trend just like Manti did for us at LB.

Also I understand what everybody was saying about it taking time with a proven front seven, but I will say this, if this defense plays 60 minutes like they did for 30 against FSU there are not going to be very many teams that can beat us! That's what has me so excited even with the exit of he who will not be named. Just need to win the turnover battle and this is gonna get real fast!
