USF is in the lead by a lot IMO. Its not just that his dad coaches there but he has known most of the coaches for the majority of his life.

Florida is 2nd his sister is there and he likes the school.

If he were to leave the state I think it would be for USC. M Kiffin does well in the area and he knows Nelson Agholor.

He doesnt seem like a kid that would go somewhere he didnt know anybody.

So I guess the question is in what scenario would he go to ND?

1. His dad takes a job at another school
2 Sherit does not go to Florida instead chooses ND.
3 USC is full at CB

Sherit and Hargreaves just decided to visit Florida one day last week so I am pretty sure Sherit committing to ND would Hargreaves to take a OV.

I cant thank you enough for this post.

It was a surprise to most of us that he was potentially visiting. Our chances are probably not high with Vernon, but stranger things have happened when a kid visits ND and potentially falls in love with the place. I thought it was said he was planning a July visit, is that still true?

I can't read the premium article but intro says that he hasn't eliminated anyone. The key is getting him on campus. He just visited Miami and they evidently made a good impression.

I will employ some cognitive dissonance and accept ALLGATOR's post above. That makes me happier.

I get that a talented player can get to the league from anywhere. But why would you go to Miami right now?

Dont believe he is going to Miami. That being said kids dont care about sanctions, all it means is more playing time for the kids that do get scholarships. ND is one of the schools he will visit with his dad this summer, along with FSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee, Ohio State and UF. He is visiting USC as well I think on his own. Like I said earlier you would need some things to happen for him to go to ND.

While I agree with your post ALLGATOR, if we get him on campus, its game on.

God, I wish we could land this guy, but we have no shot with him. Though I personally like Alexander more, so maybe Alexander can make up for us not getting Hargreaves. *Optimistic*

I know, I know, super long to no shot but I can hope damnit

The national scouting service 247Sports rated Smith as the second best performer at the competition, just behind Vernon Hargreaves III, a cornerback from Tampa. Smith has already verbally committed to attend Notre Dame, which ironically happens to be on Hargreaves’ short list of suitors.
“I didn’t get to talk to (Hargreaves) much,” Smith said. “I talked to him a little bit. But he is visiting Notre Dame later this month and I’m going to be up there and tell him everything about it.”

We need Hargreaves to realize the type of impact he can have by playing with Jaylon. Hopefully Vernon falls in love with the campus, develops a relationship with Jaylon and starts to see the great opportunity Notre Dame provides.

Here's to hopin'....

If he makes it to the ND campus, all bets are off. If he doesn't he plays for Skip. There, that's my take.

I tend to agree. One path that could lead to the Dome... While he would seem a natural fit to stay in Florida, he may not want to play for his father's team because playing for your dad is always tough. However, he may also not want to be part of building up another Florida school while his Dad is at USF. Being a coach's son, and having Skip as his Dad's boss, he might give ND a serious look. ND's sale's pitch is easy at his position.

What I bolded is very true. I would put my money that Hargreaves ends up at the U but thats just my guess. He does not seem like the type of kid that gives ND legitimate consideration. I don't mind though, I think we get Alexander.

That said I'd love to add Hargreaves
