Luke got a great sense of how highly he’s valued by the Irish staff when almost immediately upon his arrival, he found himself visiting with Head Coach Brian Kelly.
“The first day he got in he got to meet with him,” said Belles. “Coach Kelly showed him the facilities so that was pretty cool. He definitely made the statement that Cole is the kind of kid that he wants at Notre Dame.”
Luke also got to see former Irish greats like Tim Brown and Tony Rice. More importantly, he got the opportunity to meet with some of the current Notre Dame players.
“He spent time with a couple of players who are already here for the summer,” recalled Belles. “He got an opportunity to speak with quite a few of them actually. I don’t know what was said between them, but it seemed to have a good impact on him. I think it went pretty well.”

Found something funny in that article.

Luke has offers from the who’s who of college football but he has narrowed his list to seven schools, Notre Dame, Michigan, Cal, Nebraska, Arkansas, Texas and Arkansas.

lol. The paysite articles are not always well-written or well-edited, but then we don't subscribe for the writing and editing. I do shake my head at them sometimes though.

That is funny. His true "top 5", per se, seems to be Texas, Cal, Nebraska, Michigan and Notre Dame. The simple fact that he is willing to leave Arizona means that we should have a really good shot if we produce on the field. He doesn't plan on deciding until taking all 5 officials.

What the lesser Bluth said. This looks like a move to play a game of keep away from ND. Oh well. I'm strapping in, sitting back, and going to enjoy the ride.

USC and Oregon are both schools he said he would definitely visit if he got an offer from them.

I doubt USC can take kids they don't plan on playing with their scholarship situation.

I was going more with the "here's an offer, come talk to us...," and then unload a ton of anti-ND talk.

IrishLax I believe had a theory on this matter.

No way is USC, with only 15 available scholarships for the year, is playing keep away from ND.

I certainly do not think that is USC's intention, if they offered they like him. Like Nuke said 15 scholarships, you better do your homework. You can't miss on very many.

We're getting very greedy here. TP and GB and others said June was going to be a good month for us. We landed a 5 star OLB and a 4star DE early in the month. They were right, it has been a great month. Doesn't mean we're landing everybody though.

Heck if ND doesn't get anybody else this month I would still chalk June up as one hell of a month with a :s::s::s::s::s: and a :s::s::s::s: defensive monsters. Anybody else is sprinkles, nuts, hot fudge, and cherry on top.

Agreed with both of you. Besides Mattingly, I'd be truly shocked if we landed anyone else this month... maybe an outside chance with Anzalone at the end of the month but he's definitely not popping on this visit and I expect him to take at least a week after this round of visits to let things settle. Think we have a solid shot at getting Mattingly though if his visit goes great.
