Didn't we rave about Councell as a perfect DOG last year? 6'4" with speed. I think Councell starts 2013 and Jaylon is put in certain spots.

If Councell was that guy wouldn't he have won that job by now?
Might have something to do with the way Spond has played. I mean the coaches have loved Spond since the day he stepped on campus. Spond just needs to stay healthy.

If the coaches "loved" Spond he would of started at DOG last year not Shembo.

Mike has to be a leader: thats Grace, Moore reminds me of Calabrese, all intensity

Interesting if we get Anzalone which one he goes to MIKE or WILL. Succeed/Pass Grace? or succeed Fox/Calabrese and pass Moore? or succeed Moore?

The staff obviously doesn't love Spond enough to play him at his perfect position over Shembo's weaker position

I see your little bit of sarcasm there...But if memory serves me right Spond was supposed to start the season at DOG, but of course got injured during fall camp.

I'm not going to say Jaylon wouldn't play as a Frosh, however, we need to remember he's playing against kids his own age, not some 21 or 22 yr. old former HS All-American who knows the ropes. While I would love for him to start because I think he's going to be an All-American himself, it does not bode well for ND to have to start him in his first campaign.

This has been said a thousand times and you still won't give in. Anzalone will play OLB. You act like he has committed? Kid is so raw. Your posts are so confusing sometimes. Why would he pass a guy who has been in the system for three years that doesn't even play the same position?

Dude Anzalone will end up playing corner. Don't know where you get your info.

If Hendrix/Golson was the guy, wouldn't he have won the job by now? If Daniels was the guy, wouldn't he have won the job by now. If lo wood, josh atkinson, or jalen brown were the guy wouldn't they have won the job by now? If Ishaq was the guy, wouldn't he have won the job by now? See the danger in a comment like that?

No offense GB but looking through his thread u and Emcee (247 subscibers) say ILB is at the least an option if not the preferred for Anzalone...

Yeah, apparently the Anzalones really like that we want Alex for ILB and that sets us apart from other schools. Even though I'd heard ILB mentioned I still thought he would end up at OLB. Guess not.

they say he can play both but he is an ideal inside line backer.

I think he fits better as an ILB. But according to everyone on the staff at II including TJ who might juts be Brian Kelly. He is strictly an OLB.

Jaylon Smith ‏@JaeeSmiff9ENT
Im hearing Dynasty forming at Ohio State, 1stRound definite Success at USC,and All around life achieving at NotreDame football or not,

As long as Hutchings is coming to South Bend that's fine.

Actually, after reading these and reading his later tweet about ND 99% grad rate for African American athletes I feel better about Jaylon. All the other schools offer something but ND offers it all. Maybe he is drawning in Hutchings to make a Dream team of LB recruits, Smith, Anzalone , Hutchings, Randolph. (there is my positive take on it! Initial take not so good :) )

Basically someone was talking $hit about knowing something about his imminent commitment to ND. He heard it from a friend who heard it from someone else.

Thank you for the summary.

I checked a USC paysite, and they had a thread up on this tweet. Almost to a man, they thought nothing of it and still think he's coming to ND. And those guys are NOT the type to give ND any credit, believe me (and like us, they follow recruiting extremely closely).

That means nothing of course, but then again it just shows how hypersensitive too many of us can be to a tweet by a recruit 9 months from NSD. I used to be the same way, so I get it. But then the FL boys did CW dirty, and I changed. All the decommitments by our guys and by other schools' players make me say a big 'meh' when it comes to stuff like this, so early out. Makes following recruiting way easier to bear...

Five or ten logic errors earlier on. Seriously, some of you shouldn't try to make sense.

Leave my man, GB, alone or I will have to show up in your grill; It's Jay. The Domer is always in the know, and one of a half-dozen who can always make logical sense. He gave you more good information than you can handle:

He even had another good point to make where he disagreed with the coaching staff AND he told you why and how come which could have been a teaching moument for all of you equiped with functioning brains.

Also, I am starting to receive stereo Domer on this channel; this is out****ingstanding FL:

Still very confident. June 15/17 visit will be huge though as there will be 6 USC commits at the Rivals 5 Star Challenge the next weekend.

What was he overall before, this is a big jump isn't it?

EDIT: according to the prompt he was 34 before, what a jump

Edit II: the back button has stifled me again.
