Andujar is starting to look really comfortable too. Hopefully they can get Bird back and he can play like he’s capable of. Once they’re healthy there’s really not an easy out in this lineup.

If y'all could do us a solid and take the rest of this weekend off before getting red hot and taking first place, that would be amazing.

The Yankees could throw out their Low A team against the Twins and still win.

Put the South Dakota State University baseball team in Yankees uniforms and they will beat the Twins.

Agreed. Except against the Yankees. They are 33-94 against them since 2002

yikes, okay... At one point the only team with a winning record against the Yanks (this was like from 99-2013 or so) was us, I do know that.. it is strange how certain teams just perform better against others...

(maybe it was simply best record against the Yanks, I forget which)

BREAK UP THE YANKEES!

BREAK UP THE YANKEES!

8 in a row!

9 out of 10 ... while Boston plays like mere mortals going 5 and 5.

The Twinkies weren't real competition but the Angels ...

10th inning thunder.

11-1.

Quality outing by Sabathia!

C. Sabathia P 2-0, 7.0 IP, ER, BB, 4 SO, 97 P

I expected him to be a weak spot. So far so good.

I watched from the 6th inning on. He looked pretty solid. One of the hits he gave up should have been classified as an error as Didi slipped.

The next hit also didn't get out of the infield. A slow roller was hit between first and second. Austin fielded it but had no play as CC's gimpy leg didn't get him anywhere near first in time. The "Didi slip" advanced to third and scored on a wild pitch. An earned run that anyone of 3 lapses prevented would have eliminated..

Last night Sanchez's 9th inning thunder ruinned a gem by Verlander. Eight innings of scoreless ball with 14 Ks.

It was a costly win. Montgomery got through the first with only 7 pitches. But he was finished with a strained elbow. He'll be out 6-8 weeks.

In his absence German, Green, Betances, Robertson, and Chapman were almost as sharp as Verlander allowing 6 scattering 6 hits over 8 innings while whiffing 13 for NY's first shutout.

NY closed to 2 behind Sox.

Tonight, so far, it's Stanton 3 Stros 0 through 6.

Stanton's got a pair of HRs and Severino's allowed 2 hits and walk while striking out 8.

Bosox already won.

Gleyber saved Severino's bacon in the 7th, after back to back singles, Glebyer dove behind second to snare a would be Texas League single. Fortunately the ball had clockwise spin and was slicing into Gleyber's leap. Severino ended the inning with a 3 pitch K.

Stanton 4 Stroz 0

After HR to right, then one to left, he lines a 2 out double down the right field line driving in Hicks and all the NY runs.

In the past 10 days he's raised his BA more than 40 points. He's now hitting only 5 pounds less than his playing weight.

Severino (5-1) walked one and threw 110 pitches in his 60th major league start, earning his third straight win. He was still throwing 99 mph in the ninth inning as he polished off New York's third complete game over the last three seasons.

The 24-year-old righty became the youngest Yankees pitcher to toss a shutout since Sterling Hitchcock, who was also 24, in 1995.

Shreve. Lol

He was near perfect. Faced 4 batters, gave up 3 hits and a walk.

Robertson gave up the tying run on a HR to set himself up for a win when Indians walked Judge for an RBI 6-5 lead.

Then Chapman made it exciting striking out the side but not before giving up a single, an HB, and two wild pitches bringing in the tying run.

Stanton opened the bottom of the ninth with a double. Two outs later, Walker worked an 0-2 count into a 7 pitch BB. Then Andujar drove in the game winner with a single.

Chapman BS1 and W 1-0, Robertson BS2

Sabathia had a great outing, 6 innings 3 hits no BBs, no runs. Left with a 5-0 lead.

Lowered ERA to a sparkling 1.39
