I'm convinced Pedroia wins those Gold Gloves because he makes easy plays look hard; I swear he can't field a ball without flopping on the ground. He's like Anderson Varejao with an infielder's mitt, lol.....

Wow, looking at the Sox averages, you wouldn't think they were up 3-2 in the series. It goes to that graphic from last game that showed isolated clutch clutch hits by guys who generally weren't hot at all. That's what wins in October: clutch hitting and good pitching and the Sox have gotten both.

I don't care about 2011 anymore David Freese sucks ****in dick and should not be starting. He's left like 20 guys on base

Yeah, Cards need to acquire some depth to be able to pull some strings when guys go in the tank like that.

I'm afraid this game, and Series, is over. Poor Craig and Molina - they're studs -- but they can't do it alone.

Congrats to the Bosox. Not the most talented team I've ever seen -- frankly, a lot of rumdum spare parts, if you look at career numbers or where they are in their careers -- but they were clutch when they had to be, and baseball is about that and pitching, which they also got when they needed it. Congrats. They deserved it.

Time to go to bed fellow Card fans. Cards didn't want it bad enough.

So... that was fun. Blood, Sweat and Beards!

Someone help me finish this sentence...When considering pre-season expectations, the Red Sox winning the 2013 World Series is the most improbable professional sports championship since _______.

The 2003 Florida Marlins.

Congrats to the Red Sox. Hopefully this will help heal some of the wounds from the Boston Marathon tragedy. Sports has a way of doing that sometimes. Kudos.

Dude, you sound a bit bitter. Pedroia is legit. Good run by Cards, but they got beat by a better team. Go Sox.

If the Cards keep that staff healthy and together I can see them going on a Braves NL dominating type run.

The cards need some guys to hit the damn ball. It hurts that craig was hurt. But kozma and freese, damn that was pitiful

Agreed, they have lots of strong young arms. They'll be back and probably soon and often. Sox are in a pretty good spot as well w their farm system arms. It might be time to trade Bucholz for some more young talent.

No, dude, I'm not bitter. I'm right. Watch a few games without bias and you'll see he's overrated with the mitt. Btw, I congratulated the Sox and said they played better and deserved to win. They aren't great talents, but that's not necessarily what wins, and it's about winning. Believe me, I'd be very happy if I was Sox fan. It's about winning, not about how "good" people think the players are.

You know what was odd about that series and the Sox run generally was that they got huge hits from guys who were really even hot. You'll sometimes see a lesser player get hot in the Series; look at the Series MVPs and you'll see some guys who weren't their team's best player but just got white hot. The Sox got a key hit here and big hit there from guys who really weren't hitting generally. Don't recall seeing that before. They were a very clutch team.

Don't take my word for it, take the word of those that vote on such things as the Gold Glove. Did he flop around making the play on the grass, throwing home to get the runner in the game in St Louis just before Salty through the ball that led to the obstruction? That is the kind of play he makes w regularity. I can't watch this team without bias, but it's not just my opinion on him, it is that of unbiased people. Agree to disagree but in my opinion, he can sling the leather. Go Sox!

There is no way Pedroia is overrated in any aspect of the game. Pound for pound he is probably the best player in the league. Along with Papi, there is no coincidence he is one of the few holdovers on another Sox World Championship team. Watch more than a few games and you will realize that.

Ok. I mean, don't get me wrong, I think he's an excellent player. He and Ortiz are their best guys and stars. I'm not trashing him at all. I just think Golden Gloves votes are notoriously screwed up, with voters being influenced by how good of hitters guys are, and by past reputations. You know, once you win one, you pretty much win five of them. This isn't an anti Red Sox thing. I remember one year that Rafael Palmero won at first base when he played only a couple of games there. This is fed by the SportsCenter Syndrome, which gives too much time to hot-dogging plays, where they ooh and ah every time a guy leaves his feet. Most of those are unnecessary flops or slides.

Anyway, agree to disagree. Don't want to scrap on a day of celebration. Congrats on a great win; Red Sox are champs and deserve to be.

Okay. See my answer above, but I agree he's a good player. Congrats on a great win.

The fact that pedroias defensive game is coming into question is humerous to me.

See: the last play of the obstruction game.
