You guys all pretty much hit all the game reflections.
I was at the game and other Irish fans around me were very frustrated with how pro Wisconsin the video board was. People were actually starting to yell about all the different WI hype that was getting played. Very confusing for what was considered to be a ND home game. A fricking video on WI being considered RB U?! Bringing out Dayne, Ball, Gordon on the field? People were pissed.Would love to hear an explanation on that.
WI fans boo’d heavily when we did the 1812 Overture at end of 3rd quarter before jump around. Then came the mass exit of WI fans around 8 mins left. They stuck around for jump around then bolted.

The Wisco band tried playing their fight song as ND got ready for alma mater and the ND crowd just boo’d them out of the stadium. The ND players finished the night after alma mater by doing the lambeau leap into the student section!

They could. They have a favorable B1G schedule by avoiding tOhio State, Indiana, and Oregon.

Another gripe. ND/ Under Armour completely dropped the ball on the apparel. None of the “good” Shamrock Series gear was available in the pro shop or any of the pop up tents. It was all the gimmick shirts with both ND and WI. I was ready to drop money and didn’t but on thing. In protest I wore green to the game because I planned on buying a blue shirt there and they had no one I liked.

There was a play on the first offensive drive in the 2nd half. I believe it was the first check down to Aneyas Williams on 2nd down. Carr did a pretty good job of keeping his eyes down field until checking down to Aneyas. On the top of the screen, the receiver got open late on a comeback route. Idk if Carr got that far into his progression or maybe he just didn’t see him.

They play Western IL, Eastern Michigan, Rutgers, and Purdue - so that should be 4 wins off the bat.

Then UCLA, Maryland, and MSU are games you think they should win if their defense is truly sound and Joseph plays pretty well.

Minnesota, Iowa, Penn State, and SC are the toss-ups but I'm not sure I would bet on their opponents in any of those games based on what we've know right now. PSU on the road is probably their toughest game but how much stock are we putting in Campell's Nittany Lions at this point? Iowa's on the road and Minnesota is a rivalry game in late November, but we don't really know how good either of those teams are either.

I don't think Wisconsin was phenomenal, but they have the pieces to beat any of the remaining teams on their weak schedule.

The double move thing might have been part of the depth chart gamesmanship. Malachi Coleman is a physical freak but been a journeyman thus far. No Wisconsin beat guys had him as some breakout candidate. You see a 6’5 WR with little scouting report come on the field I think they just were not expecting a double move go ball. That might be one that won’t work for Wisconsin the rest of the year as everyone will have that jotted down for Coleman.

1. I was pretty disappointed with the playcalling in the first half. I don't know if it was designed that way by Denbrock, or if Carr was making the decisions (he seemingly changed every play on the first 2-3 drives), but it doesn't feel like they're ever dictating play. It's always analysis; always matchup-based; always timing routes. At some point you have to trust your talent.

2. Which leads me to my second point: this staff needs to let CJ Carr be their best player. When he's a bit restrained or limited to designed passes, it doesn't seem as easy. When they give him a little bit of freedom, the offense opens up.

3. Very disappointed with the OL the first half, although they did better the second half. But we aren't beating anyone in the playoffs averaging 3.5 YPC.

4. Defense is good. I was happy with their performance.

5. Mukam is a nice story, but he looked like a JAG last night. Thought the defense on the whole looked much better when Brewu played more.

6. Take the next few weeks to tune up, get the OL right, get the DL rotations fixed, and I think we'll be fine.

I’m not going to say he planned it exactly that perfectly, but the science of punting, if you hit the ball correctly, is going to induce side spin once it hits, as opposed to bounding end-over-end into the EZ. The wedge celebration is appropriate because if you hit it correctly, it should induce the spin you want it to, just like hitting a good wedge. That dude flushed it and it literally had perfect spin.

I would move UCLA and Maryland to a toss up. I think Penn state and USC are L’s. I could be wrong though!

Outside of LSU’s slaughter of Clemson, this was probably the best win of the weekend by someone over a likely P4 bowl team/team with a pulse lol.

Absolutely. 2021 was very flukey. ND was trailing 13-10 in the 4th and then had a kick return TD, strip sack and short field TD, and two pick sixes. Not the complete domination that we saw last night the entire second half.

We saw the booth of guys selling them. They were from Wisconsin. I asked the guy if he was Pat Walsh and he looked at me with a dumb look. I laughed and said the original Catholic vs Convicts designer. he wanted $30 for the shirt. I passed.

It's clear from the way they came out and MF's press conference, they had bought into their own hype. One half of the offense getting smacked around fixed that. Defense is good and will be even better. They played too concerned about their QB running in the first half. Once they let them loose, it was a totally different feel.

Aneyas woke up, but he still isn't a game changing big play guy. Did he get bigger and slower over the last two seasons? Put James in the slot and let Kedron be the 2nd RB. The RB's got it done in the 2nd half, but it more of just a plodding, yet efficient effort, They just don't look like big play threats.

The WR corp is apparently just Jordan Faison. Somebody better emerge and fast. We attempted one deep pass down the sideline.

I thought we'd go to the TE's more.

Right now, we look like a team that can win 11 games and get bounced in the first round of the playoffs. That all changes if we find some more threats at WR and TE. We're not winning a national championship throwing to one guy no matter how good the defense is.

And I'm still holding my breath one how much that revealed about LSU. I think Clemson is a 4-8/5-7 football team.
