I could be persuaded so sell my soul for a National Championship season at this point, and sell my first born for a BCS season.

Well, not really, but I'll be a fan till the end through thick and thin. I am getting tired of the arguments and excuses why we cannot win. If it takes a rule bending Saban, I'm kinda okay with that (Not saying he would come though). Don't get me wrong, I support Kelly or whoever the current coach is, I'm just saying in general I'm tired of trying to maintain some illusion of righteousness if everyone else gets away with more blatant rule bending and it leads to more wins at the end of the day. College football isn't exactly spotless these days, it can be a dirty business. I don't buy the academic standards argument, Stanford won a lot the last few seasons with seemingly less talent from a recruiting perspective, theres no reason why we couldn't win a lot of games. I'm not in favor of any practices that prevent these young men from achieving personal success, growth, and stability in their lives after football, but beyond that...I would just like to see us have an extremely successful season once more.

6 years is nothing until you are married to the love of your life with 2 beautiful daughters.

And then 1 minute feels like 1 second.

And 6 years could mean never meeting your daughter's future husband, etc. Or her children. Maybe the future RB, LB, or QB for the worlds greatest CFB team.

And then there's the earning a championship part the right way...

That will make the taste so much more the sweeter.

Notre Dame isn't THAT bad. She'd only be like a 7 tops at BSU.

Only reason I'd date her is because the whole "my dad is a famous football coach" thing.

Unfortunately I think it would end up as a positive net gain for me in terms of total lifespan. I'm pretty sure the Michigan game took about 7 years off of me. Two years of simply enjoying football would give my liver and heart time to get back to full health. As to everything else you said, ...Good point.

Nick Saban at Michigan State: 34-24-1
Mark Dantonio at Michigan State: 44-22

First 5 years at MSU. Also, Saban never won a bowl game while there (he left before the 99 Citrus bowl).

Yea, he was a good coach while at Michigan State (which is a much more comparable job to Notre Dame), but it wasn't until he went to a school where, to put it mildly, they are much less strict with regards to admissions and discipline, was able to oversign on a yearly basis, and was able to stash players into what is essentially a minor league JUCO system did he suddenly turn into a great coach.

I think he's a very good coach. I don't think he could reach near the type of success he's had at Alabama at a school like Notre Dame.
