The alleged experts on recruiting also very much like what Staff Kelly is doing. Scout ranks us #5 in the nation. Rivals ranks us #6. ESPN is slow to react, but had us as #9 BEFORE the Atkinsons and Stephon Tuitt made their decisions. From dead reckoning by me, it seems that even ESPN will be forced to bump us up to #5 or #6. We're all smart enough to know that such spectacular ratings aren't necessarily a given to produce championship performance on the field. But we have a Coach who is a proven genius at "coaching up" players to their potentials. Starting from this elite base talent level represented by players like Koyack, Hegarty, Tuitt, Hayes, the Atkinsons, Aaron Lynch and on and on [forgive me, unnamed young supermen, but listing everyone will take the whole page], Kelly & Company will do astonishing things that all of us will be driven crazy waiting for that day to come.
I am going to guess the last three spots go to Daniels, Wayne Lyons, and Ishaq Williams. It would be a great way to round out a really good recruiting class.
2011 will be our best recruiting year in the last 10. How long has it been since we had our pick of 4/5 star recruits? Go Irish!
It will be tough to take both French and Drew in my opinion. We already have 3 standout OLBs and it seems the staff like these players at that position. I know French has expressed desire to play on the offense side of the ball at WR too. But if we get a commit from Daniels to go with Atkinson, we will be up to 10 scholarship WRs on the roster next season (11 if Floyd stays).
We will get one at these positions:
WR: Daniels, Shuler, (if Daniels score is not high enough, we offer Amir Carlisle)
S: Lyons, Lyons, Lyons...we will not accept a commit here until Lyons pops for us or someone else, AldridgeOLB: Drew, French, IShaq
I am not sure where Denzel Perryman, Savon Huggins, and Troy Niklas fit into this.[/QUOTE]
With the amount of time BK's defenses stay on the field, you take both French and Drew if the option is there. French can play either of the OLB positions or safety. If Drew were to commit tomorrow there is no way they stop recruiting French at the very same position. The defense needs more team speed and French provides that and athleticism. Are you saying they wouldnt take Ishaq Williams if either Drew or French commit? Im not expecting to get all three but if two of them wanted to commit, Notre Dame wouldnt pass on them.
Notre Dame would accept a commit from Aldridge tomorrow if it were to happn. Lyons may be there number one safety, but Aldridge is not a bad player and Notre Dame would take that commit immediatly.
Im not sure what you mean by "fit into this." Notre Dame would save a spot for Savon if they were in the lead winding down towards NSD. I put Niklas on there because he is down to Notre Dame and Stanford. And Denzel Perryman is coming for a visit with his highschool teammate and Notre Dame verbal commit Anthony Rabasa. I think that goes a long way.

having to sort out too many potential verbals from top rated defensive recruits is a good problem to have... beats teh hell out of our recent experiences on that side of the ball anyday
