It’s pretty much all big fish (four stars) from here on out. Pending a new target in October/November.

Kedren Young, Carter Nelson, Styles Prescod, Guerby Lambert, Elijah Rushing, Justin Scott, KVA, Chris Cole, Kaleb Beasley, Paul Mencke Jr, Brauntae Johnson… all composite four stars or higher.
How many are we leading for, 2 maybe? We need to land at least half

I personally think that we're going to fill this class with 1-2 guys that are not presently on the board because, well, that's just good recruiting. Keeping an open mind to guys that develop later in the cycle. 2 is just a completely made up number but I think it's a plausible number based on need, available spots, and history.

We need to remember that Brandyn Hillman, Kenny Minchey, and Ben Minich didn't have offers at this point last cycle.

To be fair had we offered Hillman earlier he may have had time to fulfill the necessary admissions requirements and not be playing for Michigan next season. But, yes. It's six months til Signing Day still and there will be more recruits on the board. Last year we didn't offer Terek until October, and Kaleb Smith until November.

Are the white jerseys supposed to be some sort of bat signal?

I don’t know when, in what order, kids announce, but I’m just throwing it out there those two might already be in the class when they leave campus.

I think there will be a good number of June visitors that will end up in this class. In fact, Notre Dame could easily go 5/5 on the group that’s visiting this weekend.

Johnson would be a pleasant surprise. Not often do we see a kid put in the extra work in the classroom to get in the class, especially from the Fort Wayne area.

Updates from the beat this morning sounds like ND is no longer a player for Gallegos.

Safety board clearing up. Get Mencke and Johnson in the fold, and close with one of the plus athletes in Ziglar or Miles.

No longer a player for Gallegos because he likes other schools more or because they’ve honed in on other guys?

I think they are very confident in Mencke…cough, cough… and if things check out with Johnson then they will have their Safties.

Not really. With how fluid the portal is now, there’s no point in fixing depth deficiencies with warm bodies that will never play.

Going the Thomas Harper and Antonio Carter route is probably the smarter play.
Well I wouldnt consider Urlacher a safety. Plus you bring up the portal it works both ways who’s to say some of our guys don’t jump ship? I didn’t think Diggs would leave and he did. Carter ND got lucky and he does change a lot of things he is better than any safety we have

Pres of is the fall back for Lambert.

Our Line recruiting - on both sides of the ball - is concerning if we expect to be a Top 15 Program.

It’s been well reported that Diggs had two feet out the door for about a year and a half before he finally pulled the trigger. I don’t think that really came as a surprise to anyone. But, you’re right. Coaching staffs have to recruit their own roster now.

I’d rather the staff find a guy in the portal, especially someone who has played major D1 ball, to fill a need rather than some middling 3 star that’ll get processed out after his sophomore season.
