Diaco is mentioned, but thinking that dog won't hunt.

Thinking they go after Addazio hard, but end up with Cristobal.

Diaco's name being thrown around is quite the compliment to him. He's still pretty young. (How old is he anyways?) I understand the Big East may be a sinking ship, but Rutgers would not be a bad job to take over. Good state for football, on an upswing, some history...

Hasn't the AD cited financial issues in the past? Diaco will leave, I just don't think it will be this year. I think it will be the first year post a BCS game.

I don't always give people sh!t about their avatar, but when I do, it's because they've encroached.

I've seen Al Golden, Darren Rizzi, Mario Cristobal, and some guy from a D2 school. NJ is a good state for football but it's more of an NFL state. Those who do like college football in the state tend to like teams outside the state.

Schiano leaving is a bit of a shock to be honest.

Just a temp. My buddy sent it to me along with several other jabs at Kiffy. Replacing this weekend when a custom kiffy slam.

Maybe they'll have the vest back as an instant replay consultant again.

BTW-- I still stand by claim that "Gameday Replay Consultant" has to be the greatest gig in, well...the history of gigs.

I don't know about that. Caddie for Tiger during his reign. Tyson's trainer during his reign. Tom Brady's OC. The guy that body paints the SI girls. Just a few that came to mind.

schiano was 34 when he hired in at rutgers. diaco is 38. diaco grew up about 15 miles from schiano in nj. both italian, defensive minded, with east coast ties. this could very well be complicated in the next few days.

i'm actually a little nervous. a little. i think the assistant head coach title will keep diaco in sb for at least 2 seasons. after that....

he gone.

The better question is, who cares?

All of us if the Diaco rumors grow legs. Local, D-guy, young, Italian.... Everything the locals like. Don't think it will happen, but still a bit nervous.

I don't know how much returning to NJ matters to Diaco though. Outside of UVA he's been in the midwest for 2 decades. That's over half his life. At that point I'd consider myself a Mid-Westerner, unless I really wanted to reconnect with family/extended family.

Let's be honest, South Bend geographically and culturally is not very attractive to a lot of people. Returning home a head coach is also a draw. Again, don't think it will happen, but it could make sense on a few levels.

Is this a prerequisite for being the next head coach at Rutgers? Will the AD be interviewing the cast of Jersey Shore...or at least calling them in as consultants?

If I were Rutgers, I would hire Mario Cristobal. His wife is hot. Not Lane Kiffin wife-hot, but hot nonetheless.
