What does BK need a smoke-screen for though?
Unless ND found out he was shopping himself, and THEY leaked it to get the wheels turning.
Yea.. confused.

I think there will be a mutual parting ways.
The question is who will be the next coach of Notre Dame?

This is going to get bizarre. Exploring other options after one of the worst coaching performances in the country this year? I think there are holes in this team, but I truly don't believe this roster is anywhere near as devoid of talent as some make it. Top 10 recruiting classes should be turned into top 10 finishes in my opinion. I honestly have no idea what goes on with this guy. Piss poor coaching job this year by Kelly. From scheme to game management, this team was not put in the best position to win week in and out.
we should be on the phone with dan mullen and chris klieman.
dan mullen is still young (44), and has been a head coach in the sec west for 8 years. he's averaged close to 8 wins a year and is 29-35 in sec conference play at fricking ms state.
hahaha helllll no to mullen, he hasn't done anything worthy of coaching at ND
he coaches in the sec west...at mississippi state...
Top 10 classes you say. 247 composite team rankings:
2013: 5th
2014: 11th
2016: 13th
2017: 15th
Only one class in the top 10, one just outside. And each year trending down. Enough talent to win at least 8 games this year for sure. But not enough to compete with the big boys...example USC classes.

Is south alabama or byu in the sec west?
Which team(s) on this year's schedule were we clearly less talented than? USC. And that's it. We should be 11-1.
Might be a vacancy at Tennessee tomorrow
I wouldn't read too much into that Yahoo story. Feels like Kelly - or more likely his agent - covering bases in case the rumors running rampant on message boards the last few days turned out to be true.
God if we fire Kelly Tennessee would hire him. I wouldn't be able to handle that.
Two weeks ago, I never thought I would say this.... Franklin.
Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly, through his representatives, is exploring options to possibly leave the Fighting Irish program, a source said Saturday.
Kelly's representatives have had contact with other universities, a source told ESPN. Yahoo! Sports first reported Kelly's interest in the possibility of leaving Notre Dame.
After Saturday's 45-27 loss at USC, Kelly was asked if he would return next season. "I'll be back, absolutely," he said.
Notre Dame sources told ESPN that Kelly has expressed no desire to leave the school.
There are currently only two openings for head coach among Power 5 teams -- Baylor and Purdue -- but more opportunities could spring up based on additional movement in the ranks. Among prominent FBS programs, Oregon could have a vacancy if the Ducks decide to fire Mark Helfrich following his team's completion of a 4-8 regular season.
Kelly also could have an interest in the NFL should an opportunity present itself, a source said.
Since Notre Dame recently announced the NCAA was investigating the school for academic fraud in 2014, Kelly has been repeatedly left to answer for it publicly. On Tuesday, the NCAA vacated 21 Notre Dame victories from the 2012 and 2013 seasons due to academic misconduct involving eight Irish players.
Athletic director Jack Swarbrick told ESPN's Matt Fortuna in midseason that Kelly would return next season, a proclamation that actually irked Kelly because his AD had to public announce his job was not in jeopardy.
"Brian will lead us out of the tunnel on opening day next year," Swarbrick said at the time.
Notre Dame finished its regular season 4-8 and will not play in a bowl game for the first time since 2009, Charlie Weis' final year with the Irish. Kelly is 59-31 in seven seasons at Notre Dame and clinched a bowl berth in each of his first six seasons.
