My girlfriend says I get mean when I drink whiskey, like short with her. I told her that she just screws up more when I drink Whiskey.

Do you want to know something funny? And this is the truth - My wife's favorite joke I tell:

Q: "What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?"
A: "Nothin'! You already told her twice!"

Cracks her up every time! I don't know why. But she laughs at it every time!

I think Whiskey should just come prepackaged with a white tank top....

I'm weak. Wiskey is like motor oil or poison to me. A nice cold beer works just fine.

Nothing wrong with that. I don't consider myself "badass" or "tough" by any means just because I like whiskey. It is definitely an acquired taste. If it doesn't suit your palate, there is nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, to each his own. Like I said, I like beer. An occasional glass of wine with dinner hits the spot, too. But, if I'm going to spend a night in "Nanker's World," playing pool, cranking the tunes, and drinking, or just sitting around with a drinking buddy swapping stories and laughs, then whiskey it is. And, so far, have never beaten my wife of 30 years. Yet.

Started out with Crown Royal but now I definitely prefer Glenlivet on the rocks with a cold brew to chase. Johnny Walker Black is also pretty good as well.

Don't get me wrong guys, it is just a joke I tell. Mostly because it cracks my wife up a lot. Ask NDinL.A. - I would never lay a hand on my wife in anger. Just want to clarify...

Now back to whiskey! Mmmmmm....whiskey!

Anybody else here like to drink whiskey? I love whiskey. I'm not talking about shooting it down and then almost throwing up to enhance the beer buzz, like we did when we were kids. I'm talking about sipping and savoring it, sampling all the different varieties, choosing a favorite (or favorites), deciding how to best enjoy it (e.g., neat, rocks, w/water, etc.) and sharing that experience with others.

I love whiskey. Anybody else?

I love whisk(e)y as well, much to my wife's dismay.

I am almost finished with the Woodford Reserve and halfway through the bottle of Glenlivet ,My Darling wife bought for me as a gift. I have enjoyed both either neat or on rocks I prefer the whiskey neat and Scotch on rocks. and Usually I enjoy them with a nice Cigar laid back on the back porch in the shade of the evening. I have always had more of a taste for Burbons I am a big fan of Jim Beam. Like it for sippin and i make some bbq sauce that you have to be carefull with (if you get it in the wrong place your toungue will beat your brains out) , I can't keep the family out of the pot till I get it done most of the time.

I used to be a part of the Maker's Mark society and all that... jsut can't do it anymore... I enjoy a beer now and then and a glass of red wine now and then... though I find if I pop a bottle of wine I'm not just having a glass... I'm having the whole bottle... lol

Not a bad choice

I love me some George T Stagg from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Anything 15+ years old and usually over 70% abv rocks.

The Stranahan's looks interesting. Any details? What is it, an American Blend?

Just finished off another Glenlevit 18 year old this past weekend. Need to replace that. This is my favorite, as the price is still not out of sight (like the 21 year old, which is like the ambrosia of the gods), but the quality is noticeably better than the 12 year old.

I love whiskey! I'm kinda partial to irish whiskey and bourbon.

Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Jameson, Yukon Jack. Anything that burns going down. LOVE IT. Usually I mix it with Cola, but Jim Beam I mix with 7up.

Stranahans is a Denver small batch distillery. The first and only micro distillery in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains as well as one of the first in the country. They won the Gold medal in the malt whiskey division of the 2008 American Distillers Institute in Louisville, Kentucky as well as the over all Best of Show. Other awards include Westword's Best of Denver 2008 and 2009, The Malt Advocate Magazines Pioneer of the year 2008, and Jim Murray's 2008 Whiskey Bible named SCW The Best Small Batch Distilled Whiskey in the World.

A true single-malt sippin' whiskey, if you will. (Stranahan's doesn't like to use the term single malt though, but it is a barley-based whiskey, so call it what you want)

Thanks for the rundown. I'm gonna look and see if I can find it here in Indiana and give it a try. Always looking for new, quality, additions to my bar.
