What video game are you playing?

I'm playing FarCry 4 and Destiny...

Not bad.

Beat "The last of us" a while back. I'm not a huge online player, so it wore off after I beat solo mode.

The Last of Us and Uncharted are the best storylines in video game history. Most true to life and have great characters.

Metal Gear has the greatest story line I'm gaming history and that is a fact (italics On the fact).

I was playing Black Flag for enjoyment, but now I'm Hell bent on 100% completion. I'm only about 40% through the main missions, but I've got everything else complete already. Well, except three Mayan stones and an area of Kingston that remains blocked for some reason.

My map shows as everything unlocked and yellow for completed though. Anyone know if the last few Mayan stones and the bottom part of Kingston only come available through main story missions, or have I been duped by my map?

The bottom part of the Kingston map is locked until you reach a certain point of the story. I cant tell you for spoiler reasons when or why you end up there. You just have to play through the missions. An no, i dont think there are any mayan relics in that area.

Playing Rouge Legacy like an addict.

Rogue Legacy is one of the free games on PSN this month if you have psplus. So much fun. You should try The Binding of Isaac, and Apotheon. Super fun indie platformers.

Thanks for the heads up.

I did a quick google search for Mayan Stone locations (scanning to avoid major spoilers), and found that the last three are all in locations only open during main story missions. It also appears that I can get to the bottom part of Kingston via rowboats and fast-travel on the south beaches of the top portion. However, maybe that's only open after I reach the part of the story that you're referencing.

Did you ever hear about the boss "cheat" in MGS3? Where you can just save your game and wait two weeks, and the final boss dies of old age?

MG, especially the ps1 one put so much time into the story which is part of the reason I loved it. Still haven't seen all of the videos and I've beaten it like 10 times. They go so in depth

I actually have very little experience with the franchise, but I've seen this Easter Egg mentioned all the time in various articles and whatnot.

I'm a sucker for video game easter eggs. I had to break out the old Pokemon Blue version when I found out there was a legitimate way to catch Mew.

And thus killed the last spread of respect I had for IrishLion............

That's only for "The End" though. Not all bosses. Makes sense too, since his battle is really slow and not as much fun after the first time you play it.

That's how I got it. I loved the Binding of Issac, but haven't been able to get into Rebirth.

Ugh. That most people think this makes me sad. Those are both really good games, but if a plot that would be a B-level summer blockbuster is the pinnacle of video game artistry, this medium's in some serious trouble.

Pokemon was in my 4th-5th grade wheelhouse when I was growing up, so I got it out of storage a few years ago and re-started a Pokemon frenzy on campus when I was working a student job.

And I had respect to begin with?

I haven't finished the last of us but I'm far enough in to agree. Seriously, metal gear had more story in the second disk of MG1 than the last of us has in the whole game. then they proceeded to make 4, soon to be 5 more and didn't slack On the story at all.

MG is phenomenal in that regard.

I wouldn't say I'm enough of a metal gear fan to agree with you about that story being particularly excellent either. I think it does well with themes and metaphors, and the ending of snake eater was probably Kojima's masterpiece. But Kojima indulges too much in his own cinematic style and many of his games end up being long movies with twenty minutes of gameplay in between. It's also extremely heavy-handed (even for Japanese games) and to call the plot obtuse is an understatement. I watched a two hour summary of the entire plot from beginning to "end" and there are many things that blatently don't make sense. It's complex sure, but it's not nessecarily good.

We did the same exact thing senior year of high school once we all got into college. Nobody cared about their school work anymore so we started playing Pokemon constantly in class. I went to a terrible high school so the handful of "good"/honors students pretty much did whatever we wanted. My football coach and "Dean of Discipline" gave us all detention on prom night because we all politely declined to hand over our GameBoys when he tried to confiscate them one afternoon.

Yeah, it's the old sniper guy....I didn't hear about it until long after I beat it.

That's exactly how I feel about it. Doesn't take away from the gameplay (it's an excellent game) but it's too much junk.

By the way....Pokémon? Seriously guys....

You will die a lot at the beginning. Just keep grinding and leveling your character up. Soon you'll start making really deep runs into the castle and it really opens up.

Ok, so you're levels transfer from character to character then? Also, is there any way to take a character into the castle and survive?

Not unless you beat the game. That's the point. It's called Rouge Legacy because it's a Rouge-like where you create a legacy because each character is a descendant of your last. The upgrades transfer from character to character so every time you start over you're a little bit stronger.

Any suggestions for Xbox One games with good solo campaigns? Online is a plus too. Was thinking about picking up Evolve or Dying Light possibly
