They need to just retire them for a while. It isn’t a big deal if you roll them out every year. 2022 Cal? Seriously? They should be used approximately once every 5, 10 years for huge games — and lose the green pants.
The green pants actually looked really good live. I didn't like them in the promo pictures, but they worked well.

It's not that really looked bad, per se. They just didn't look like Notre Dame. It reminded me of Oregon, just donning Notre Dame helmets.

That said, I'm sure the players and recruits liked them. I don't believe I was their intended target for design purposes. ;)

It was basically the Oregon unis the Ducks wore against FSU in the Rose Bowl playoff game in 2015.

I would love to try them do these again, with full green up top and white bottoms.

UA needs to step up their game and update our gold pants. Put a little gloss on those things. The matte gold looks dull.

I like that the helmets and pants intentionally do not match, and like the color of the pants as the school pantone color. I think it would look like ass if the pants looked like we were trying to match the helmets, but they didnt match. I’d like to see a rendition of the jerseys where the numbers are the gold color of the C with the outline white. Not all the time, but just as a subtle home alternate they wear maybe once a year. Or maybe even on the away uniforms do the gold with navy outline.

The mustard pants are great and somehow look old school and modern at the same time. Big fan. I'd be fine with switching them up to a lighter/metallic shade if we have a green game, but I think they make the blue/white jersey and helmet pop.

I'm so glad I'm not alone on this. About three years ago Driskell posted on IB that he hates the "mustard pants" and they need to go back to the old gold ones. I said the current pants look so much better and the old gold ones look dated and everyone on that board took a shit on my reply.

I
Forkbeard, honestly, for LSU/SEC stuff, ok, you´ve earned your dues.
For ND culture and history, like our uniforms, really, honestly, what is your credibility on that?
Did you/family go to school here? A Subway Alum? From Chicago/Midwest?
Must be some reason you believe you have a legit opinion on ND culture and history.
What is it?
Thanks in advance.
I actually really appreciate and value hearing input and perspective from other fanbases when they can be objective and balanced and not just hate on another school either because its not their own rooting interest, or based on bullshit narratives.

I loved the white pants for the Clemson game. I wouldn't mind if they went with that look every now and then.

I'm also a believer that the away uniform is better than the home.
The whites didn’t look bad, per se, it just didn’t look like Notre Dame. I didn’t like the all green, though. They needed the gold pants.

I agree with your last statement, too (away uniform > home uniform). Great, great look. Everything pops. The navy number and interlocking ND with gold outline, captain’s C…just a perfect uniform.

Of all the things to say that at outside fan can't have an opinion on, the aesthetic appeal of uniforms is a weird one.

They can have an opinion, but why should any of the fanbase care what it is?

I can’t believe there is a contingency that doesn’t like the mustard pants. They’re a great color, they have a uniqueness to them, and they don’t clash with the helmet. It’ll be a sad day if the mustard pants ever go away.
