The wife and I blitzed the final season of Bosch. Final season is solid. A political statement woven into the final season. Not a great but a pretty good ending.

Not really an ending. Prime's moving a spin off with Harry as a Private Eye over to their IMDB channel.

I hope it's shot in 4K too. Nothing touches Bosch when it comes to the cinematography. They turn LA into a character, not a setting.

That's good news. It also opens up for a lot more story lines and less restrictions on his actions as a PI.

Participants on Alone are dropping like flies. Only 25 days in and they’re down to five contestants.

We haven't finished the last episode but they all built significant structures and haven't sourced much food.

Loki has been great and we just finished season 1 of Animal Kingdom.

Several have some impressive structures for sure. My money has been on the dude from Alaska until last episode.

Watching Dexter, got past season 3 for the first time…

The end of season 4 and beginning of season 5 just seem needlessly cruel. Not sure I even want to continue watching out of interest for the revival in the Fall.

The final finale is just awful, I'm really interested how they bring it all back

Bears are getting more active. The two remaining ladies had some interesting times in last nights episode. I'm glad they changed to the 90 minutes episodes.

The first preview I saw makes it seem like Dexter is falling into the Trinity Killer's routine... it's really just the "hiding in plain sight as a school teacher" thing, but the creators couldn't have possibly overlooked that parallel, right??

Just watched Muscle Shoals on YouTube TV. Tells the story of how it became the place to record music. Includes interviews with Jaggar, Aretha, Steve Winwood, Wilson Pickett and a lot more. I recommend it if you’re into music.

Just finished Boardwalk Empire. Hats off to HBO for making Steve Buscemi such a likelable and hateable villain.

I watched Succession. I hate the Office style. I don't give a shiit about any of the characters besides Logan and the son Cameron was playing

BUT

It's still a great show. It's Billions minus interesting characters.

Can we talk about how ridiculous October is going to be for movies?
  • No Time To Die - Daniel Craig's last Bond - October 8th
  • The Last Duel - Ridley Scott doing a medieval period piece. Hopefully the studio won't butcher it like they did when chopping up Kingdom of Heaven - October 15th
  • Halloween Kills - Honestly worth seeing just because John Carpenter is doing the musical score again - October 15th
  • The French Dispatch - Wes Anderson and a GOAT tier cast - October 16th
  • Dune - Denis Villeneuve filming the un-filmable sci-fi epic with a GOAT tier cast HYPE LEVEL >9000 - October 22nd
  • Jackass Forever - If you were a teenager in the 90s/early 2000s, you know - October 22nd
  • Last Night in Soho - Director Edgar Wright does not miss - October 29th
All these huge movies, and none of them are Marvel. It's beautiful.

My wife really likes that one as well. Pretty relatable with us having a 6 month old and her just going back to work and all. It certainly has it's moments. Usually when it's on, I'm doubling on my phone with IE or something like that.

I've been waiting for when I can finally fill some weekends with some entertaining movies.

Might be catching a double-feature on 10/15.

Also unreasonably excited for Jackass Forever. I can only imagine what they've filmed for the final scene.

Just finished a docuseries called "The Confession Killer". Henry Lee Lucas was known as America's most prolific serial killer, admitting to hundreds of murders. A local sheriff and the Texas Rangers get him to admit to a bunch of murders. He admits to any they present to him. Then they reach out to agencies around the country and it grows. When they present several murders to the Waco District Attorney, he looks at the evidence and decides not to pursue because things don't add up. Reporters catch on and people realize the sheriff and Rangers are spoon feeding Lucas all the information about each murder and he's going along with it since he knows he's not going free. One set of parents don't believe he killed their daughter and do their own leg work. They find out Lucas wasn't even in Texas when she was killed. Law enforcement ignores the evidence and presses on. Rangers go after Waco DA to keep from looking bad as he's exposing one of the biggest criminal justice hoax in U.S. history. Making of a Murderer is small potatoes compared to this.

Also recommend the movie Last Flag Flying with Brian Cranston, Steve Correll and Lawrence Fishburne.

Finally started The Walking Dead about a month ago. Watched Season 7 episode 1 and I almost quit. Whoever wrote the gratuitous violence for this episode has some serious demons.

Negan, the character, is so flat and lifeless no matter what he's doing, it's not real life. It's someone you want to see die but it's just not well executed at all. I felt physically ill after watching this episode.
