My best friend thanks you for keeping him employed.

My wife is from PA and before they started their expanded distribution I was summoned by the college buddies to bring home as much as I could from trips to see her family.

The Hershey Chocolate Porter was bottled this year. You might start seeing it soon your way.

Ranch Water seltzer made in far west Texas. Very okay, only 4% at 80 calories. Think I'll switch to another one next time.

Got something a little nicer to pop open once the game is over/all but.

I just cracked it open. Sake was on sale so I bought a bottle. I've only ever had it 1 other time before but wanted to take advantage of this.

I tried it chilled as trying to get it warmed seemed like too much of an effort tonight. It's pretty viscous and light in flavor. It probably does need to warm up a little more, but its pretty solid. I think I get some peach flavor. It actually tastes like it would be very good warm on a cold day. Sadly it was pretty dang hot today...

Pizza Port Beach Retreat IPA

Not their best seasonal but it's better than 80% of the IPA's you'll find.

Sake. Wasn’t expecting that.

You should give cold unfiltered Sake a go on a warm day.

Opened a bottle of Logsdon the Conversion - Series 2

This is a top notch organic gauze/ wild ale.

Nice straw color with slight head.

Hint of the barnyard associated with this type of beer but not over the top.

Nicely carbonated with a champagne mouth feel.

Really clean on the palate with hints of sour apple but not overpowering in terms of tartness and a nice dry finish.

I think this breweries back catalog of wild ales stack up with just about anybody.

NEVER warm sake. The stuff you see in old Japanese movies is basically moonshine compared to today's stuff -- they warmed it to hide the crap taste. Drink sake like you would a Riesling.

That's strange, I read a couple places online that say it's perfectly acceptable to drink warm, especially when it's cold. I mean, people used to drink warm brandy and beer and wine right? It's more of a modern innovation that everything is drank chilled or room temperature at warmest.

My wife and best bud ( who knows Heysus on this board) both grew up in Japan. Yeah, Sake chilled in most cases is the way they do it and despite being a Filipino chick and a Black dude they’re both super about that Japanese lifestyle

Looks like summer is going to hold on for a couple more days around my way...

Tomorrow afternoon think I’m gonna blow off work and find some Heineken on the golf course. Cheers!!

I'm not a fan of any alcohol being warmed, other than an Irish Coffee. I guess my revulsion stems from that fact. I tried mulled wine once, and found it utterly ridiculous.

If you want a great experience, go look for a nigori sake. The rice is less polished for nigori, so you end up with a "cloudy" milky-white sake that's light and refreshing. My favorite is Kome Kome:

I had a buddy in college,... now 20 years back,... who was from Uganda, part of the peace keeping force, dude had stories for days. He was older (like 27ish at the time) but whatever,... anyway he’d keep his cases of beer in the closet and say, ‘drink it motto like a real man!!’ Motto in his language meant warm or room temperature,.... I chilled with my boy so often that to this day I can drink anything warm or room temp,... no thing. I really would like to know what ended up happening to Egaunza, he was great people but long to short,...

You could leave a Highlife in the sun for two days and I could drink it normal.

Hey ACamp, keep an eye out for St Arnold Pumpkinator. Just released over here, and our HEB had it in the business center since it's so popular. Might be worth asking the beer/wine rep of your local store.

Wild Basin hard seltzer after a little red wine with some pizza tonight. Earlier I went to Save the World, who was 1 of 2 Austin area breweries who placed at GABF. Good beer but even better deals (if you remember to bring your old glass).

Mama brought home a Stone variety pack from Costco. I'm not really a Stone fan besides Enjoy By's but this has a couple I've never had. Fear Movie Lions DIPA and Cosmic Runestone IPA.

Just finished the Cosmic. It's really good. Drinks like a light DIPA and you can definitely taste the juniper they say it favors. It's also on the sweet side in the middle before finishing dry. The FML is supposed to be good per BA so I've saving that for some tri tip tonight.

The other two in the case are standard IPA, (meh) and Delicious which is even more meh.

It's amazing how much better Stone IPA is at the brewery vs in bottles. Biggest gap in craft beer I've experienced.
