Tonight I'm making myself a nice dinner and popping a bottle of wine I brought back from Italy. I can't wait.

Wife bought me Jefferson Ocean II for Christmas. Just now opening. Enjoyable. Doing some research it seems there is much about this that is secret or unknown to the public. Its distilleries are undisclosed and the mash bill is not clear though its supposed to be 20-30% rye. It is kind of bitter initially though after multiple tastings it has mellowed and is quite nice. Dry finish. There are some distinct notesi cant wuite place. Good profile overall though there are cheaper bottles on the shelf that are as good or better.

Red Breast 12 year. I bought this bottle to celebrate the 2012 NCG. Had 2 drinks then and haven't opened it since.
Stupid question, does Whiskey go bad?

Whisky doesn't really spoil or "go bad"*. Having said that when a bottle gets low and is left in that state for a long time it can start to change for the worse (again it doesn't go bad, it just sometimes starts to deteriorate in smell and taste). If the bottle only had 2 pours out if it is probably fine as long as it wasn't sitting in the sun and temperature was controlled.

*Poor choices for storing it are the one way it could go bad so don't keep it right next to the oven or in direct sunlight.

Thanks.

It's actually stored on/in a decorative bar table in the living room. Always about 68 degrees. The bottles sit along the back and the bottom 6 inches sit below the table out of light.

Then it should be fine. I wouldn't make a habit of having 2 drinks and setting it aside for another 4 years as eventually the taste will start to deteriorate though it most likely still won't "go bad". I have a few bottles that have been open for 8 years and they haven't started to deteriorate yet.

Considering the reason I bought the bottle, and the results of the game, I may shed a tear when I raise the glass.

This wine has really opened up, though I think it needed even more time to breathe. Cherry and medium body. Amazing noble wine.

Mammoth Brewing HWY 395 IPA....

Not gonna lie, I picked it up because the 395 runs right through my home town... growing up I could throw a baseball on a good crow hop, catch a couple of good bounces and the ball had a chance of hitting that highway... sooooo....

But all that aside, it's pretty good, I'd get it again. Hops are subtle for an IPA but there are smoky chocolate notes (unlike a malt, this is different) and some berry in there that really go together nicely.
