Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells Red Blend 2012. I picked it up on coupon at Costco for $11. A very good value.

Great list. I'd add Drednaught to it. That and Permanent Funeral are my two favorite 3F.

Dreadnaught is fookin fantastic.

Had it at a Beer Advocate fest here in Boston years ago .

Would like to try Gumballhead as well .

I'm drinking Citra Hero from Revolution Brewing while watching Red Sox / Dodgers.

Quality brew .

Mascota vineyards Unanime 2011. This is a great wine. Blackberry, cassis, plums, earthiness (forest floor, mushrooms, etc) with some spices. A great wine 90-92.

How was it?
First of all, I'm sorry for your loss (referenced days ago). Losing family is always tough. Second, I apologize for not getting back to you quicker. My week has been crazy.

It was great. I always ask for dealers choice while at JK buying bottles to go, and they threw this one in when I went last November. Awesome stuff. Tastes kinda like they were trying for a really crisp white wine, but with some farmhouse funk. I loved it.

I have a list of what I've had this past week but I need to work a bit on compiling my thoughts.

This release sounds great
mybeerbuzz.com - Bringing Good Beers & Good People Together...: Stone - 2016 Double Bastard - Bigger Longer Uncut

Stone Double Bastard with 35% aged in Laphroaug barrels. Paging NDinMich.

Holy **** that is awesome. Nice find, I've already posted the distro question. Wish I could rep you but apparently I do that too much already!

This beer sounds really interesting. Curious how the two pair together, as well as the Templeton.

Thanks pkt!

Headed to Denver in a few weeks. Hopefully going to get to a few places I haven't been before and hopefully the new Great Divide tap room.

That is a very good beer, why were you surprised?

Kind of the same way Mosaic IPA from Karl Strauss floored me... I never really overly enjoyed anything by KS before that beer so I had an impression of the entire brewery just being below average and then....

I'd had similar experiences with FWalker prior to Luponic

Had an IPA from AZ Wilderness a couple weeks ago that I really enjoyed. Seems like the Mosaic hops were doing most of the heavy lifting there. Wouldn't be surprised if that's why you like that KS beer, too.

Understandable. I do enjoy Union Jack and Double Jack but I didn't really appreciate Firestone Walker till I had Succaba. FW has some great barrel aged beers.

On the way home, I stopped by Safeway to grab something for my wife and I saw that they had Stone Enjoy By (Unfiltered 9/5/16) for the first time. They also had it on sale for $5 for a 22oz bottle. Easiest purchase decision ever.

Jackalope, I see you lurking, what are you drinking?

It seems like you aren't posting as much and I miss reading about all of the Michigan beers.

Wonder of wonders. I'm sure you recall what Safeway's beer selection was like even 5 years ago...

Haha, I was lurking. I haven't been posting because I've been drinking mostly the same stuff all summer. SN Otra Vez, Anderson Valley Briney Melon Gose, and I know you're not gonna like this but Founders All Day IPA.

Had a Bells Poolside today and wasn't a fan. Also had a Brewery Vivant Tropical Saison earlier which was pretty nice. I hate to say it but I've been pretty lame this summer. Your Stone post got me thinking about a bottle of Sunday Brunch I bought a while back. Have you had it? Is it good?

The Stone Bastard's Midnight Brunch?

If so, yes I had a bottle right after it came out. It was good but not worth the price, though it may benefit from some aging (I found that the certain flavors dominated and it didn't feel balanced).

Having said that it was still enjoyable just fell short of expectations based off of price and it being a Stone product and a little time in the bottle might have helped it.

Truth. Safeway has come a long way here(though they still fall short of their sister store Von's in California), thankfully because some times it is nice to not have to drive to Total Wine. Now we just need all of the AZ grocery stores to carry beer like the CA stores do.
