Tried Cascade's Blueberry Ale a few days ago. Probably my least favorite of the bunch, but still very enjoyable. Sang Noir > Blackberry > Apricot > Blueberry.

Almanac Sours are calling your name. Tropical Platypus is very good. Also have you had Boulevard Love Child #7 yet?

Have not tried either of those, but will work on obtaining them immediately. It looks like the latter can be purchased at Total Wine; any suggestions on where the find the former? Whole Foods, Bev Mo, ...?

ETA: The Bruery Tart of Darkness is also available right now and is very good (plus it is rare to get a sour stout).

Tried it about 6 months ago. Blew my mind. Would still put Sang Noir above it, but it was both unique and incredible.

BevMo is carrying Almanac (oddly Total Wine is not carrying them).

Last night I met a friend from college for drinks and I had
Brooklyn Bel Air Sour Ale
Elysian Space Dust

Then I came home and opened my bottle of Lagavulin 8yo, 200th anniversary release (I will post notes later this week, probably Thursday).

I wasn't overly big on space dust... It was good but maybe the rep over hyped it, kind of like SUCKS,...had both after hearing tons about them, had same reaction to both,... Good, nothing overly spectacular.

I think that Space Dust is better than good but fall short of great. Probably a 89-91 beer. Have you had Elysian Dayglow IPA? That is very good as well (but again falls short of great, avoid their Immortal IPA like the plague, it is not good).

Did anyone else see that Stone Pale Ale 2.0 is already being killed off? It is going to be replaced by Stone Ripper Pale Ale which will be brewed with Cascade and Galaxy hops.

No Almanac at the Chandler BevMo; bummer. Apparently Queen Creek and Scottsdale have some, though I don't know when I'll have a chance to get out there.

Have you tried AZ Wilderness Brewing Company yet, pkt? Had two excellent beers there over lunch yesterday.

Sorry for the delay; I have a list on my phone that I'll post later. I only made it to one brewery, but it was Avery at least.

How was Avery? We are going to Denver the end of August and looking at possibly heading up to Boulder to do some hiking so figure a stop at Avery would be a perfect way to relax afterwards.

I really liked it. Don't eat there though; their restaurant is very pricey. Beer was pretty decent price I thought, plus they had quite a few things I couldn't find down here.

It's hot as shizz here and we are on flex alert... So no AC until late tonight... In this setting I need some light and refreshing, picked up my good old Dos Equis green and a couple limes... Half way done with the first one, feel better already...

My list from this weekend:

Hop Syndrome (a sixer I wish I could take back; I thought it was a hoppy IPA but I only read the label afterwards that it was a Pils Lager).
The Beast Grand Cru
Double Dry Hopped Maharaja
Perzik Saison
Eremita IX
The Sink But Trippel
Lagunitas Bitter Oats
Rocky Bottom Denver Falcon Dry Hopped with Equinox Hops
Certatio Equestris

ETA: ACamp, why XX and not Pacifico? Pacifico is my choice with lime to drink for Bears games.

I still miss levitation. I selfishly wish they'd bring it back. But yeah, I didn't think the new pale ale was that great personally, so I'm glad they're killing it.

What the hell kind of backwards ass place are you living in? Oh, California, right. Here on the civilized coast, we're allowed to cool ourselves when it's hot outside.

Lol,... Cali is so ahead of the curve dude, when it's literally hot enough to kill people, the powers that be hack in and turn your AC off For hours on end until you start halicinating shit,... It serves us right to suffer....

Lagavulin 8 200th anniversary edition. $70 48%

N: Lemon, earthy peat smoke, hints of vanilla and wood smoke. Some tar hints of bubblegum. A little pepper and brine. Tastes young. Bubblegum is something that I associate with new make/young whiskies. Also a touch of green wood notes.
P: Starts with some salted and smoked fish and oak. Salted lemons with a fair amount of pepper. A little menthol. Tar and bonfire smoke.
F: lemon and pepper build before ash crashes the party. Some brineness as well.

An interesting Lagavulin that is extremely different from the standard 16yo. Definitely closer to the 12yo in flavor profile but with its youth showing. Overall pretty good but falls short of great.

So I'm making my first pilgrimage to 3 Floyds this weekend. I have just recently in the past 6months had 3 Floyds - alpha king, zombie dust, gumball head, space station middle finger and yum yum. Loved all of them except for yum yum.

Does anyone have any recommendations based on the tap list now available in the brewpub?

That sucks. Sorry.

I have been there once, I had the DC Mountain Double IPA and the Barrel Aged Santa Teresa Enkel (chardonnay barrels if I remember correctly). I really enjoyed the place. I am going to try and visit them again in the next few months.

Also of note to you Whiskey, Total Wine got in the Boulevard Rye on Rye X Sazerac.
https://www.boulevard.com/BoulevardBeers/rye-on-rye-x-sazerac/ I believe that it is $14 or $15 but it is limited.

What do you think of Wilco Tango Foxtrot? I passed it up for the time being.

In previous years I have found it to be an enjoyable beer (mid to high 80's). It has some nice malty notes (toffee, caramel) and some hops (citrus and pine resin). I usually buy a bomber or two every year, but it isn't something that I search for either.

Okay. I thought it was an Imperial Brown and thought that you didn't much care for browns. I wanted some opinions before I picked up a bomber; I got Hop Stoopid instead.
