Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee Rene is a very good slightly sour beer and easy to find.
Cuvée Des Jacobins Rouge is a very good sour beer as well that is regularly available.
New Belgium La Folie is a very good sour beer though can be expensive depending on where you are at.
Duchesse De Bourgogne is good as well.
Rodenbach Grand Cru is great but can be expensive.

Harder to find depending on where you are:
Jolly Pumpkin makes a good assortment of sour beers.
Russian River (though probably not available where you are) make the best sour beers.
The Bruery makes good ones as well (not sure if available by you or not)

Awesome. Thank you. I'm normally an ipa fan but these sours are a very nice and different choice.

True. I probably won't have any whisky on Christmas as I will be at my parents, but I will probably break out some Scotch tomorrow night after I finish wrapping the presents, just not sure exactly what I will pour.

What whisk(e)y are you going to have?

Hop Stoopid. Damn delicious. Gotta be careful if I don't wanna be hungover on the plane tomorrow. Also, anybody know of a good place to get a beer in Atlanta airport?

I get in right before the liquor store will close, but if I can make it, I'll get some Amaro, beer for my annual Christmas tradition of a beer shower, and I'm not sure what else. Also, I'm packing a bottle of Foudreweizen and Strange Land Belgian Imperial Stout for a friend.

Jameson maybe but not sure to be honest. Been on a Laphroaig 10 yo kick lately but maybe santa will have some Lagavulin for me.

Depends on if you've been good or not. If so, maybe. If not, you'll get a bottle of Kentucky Deluxe with some peat steeping in it.

Good luck. I've only eaten in the ATL airport, never drank. Probably going to find lots of Sweetwater but not a lot of Amaro.

Oh the Amaro is at the liquor store back in my hometown. I'm hoping they have some. It's a fairly large place, but you never know...I guess if I can't find any I may just convince myself to get some Chartreuse because you know, I need to treat myself to something for Christmas. :)

That would be a nice Santa.

When my wife and I first got married (8 years ago or so) and she still cared about picking out nice gifts for me, she bought me for my Birthday(in January)/Christmas/Anniversary(end of December) a bottle each of Talisker Distillers Edition, Caol Ila 25yo and Pappy 20yo. Needless to say that was by far the best gifts she has ever bought me. Now she scrolls through my wish list of books on Amazon and buys me a couple, and then buys me a t-shirt or two and calls it a day.

I got a bottle of Ass Clown Dark Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Stout from a friend for Christmas. He says it's rare. There's no ratings on either Rate Beer or Beer Advocate. Anybody had/heard of this? Should I drink it now or save it for a special occasion? I'm leaning towards the latter.

Untappd has it listed (I think it is the same beer).

I have not heard of it. I think that it would be a great beer to drink on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Will you have someone to share it with today or tomorrow?

Love the Abt 12. Such a great beer.

For myself, I think I may start with the Chimay gift pack and then I don't know what. Perhaps Xocoveza Charred but thinking I may age it more though.

Three Floyd's Alpha Klaus, a Christmas porter. It was very good, but I didn't actually taste too much "Christmas" in it. Just tasted like an above-average porter.

Next I'll break out some Alpha King. Then I may open a bomber of Space Station Middle Finger.

Drumroll...and they are?

Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad (BBQ). Never had a bourbon barrel aged quad before, actually been a while since I've had a quad. This is an interesting beer.

Yes, good. I saw this is a 100 pt beer on BA. Not sure if its that good for me. Taste the bourbon (good) but also get a cherry taste (not a fan of personally).

The cherry taste could be interesting. I sometimes gets that from bourbon but I more associate figs, plums and dates with quads.

No comment on the whiskies?
