Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee Rene is a very good slightly sour beer and easy to find.
Cuvée Des Jacobins Rouge is a very good sour beer as well that is regularly available.
New Belgium La Folie is a very good sour beer though can be expensive depending on where you are at.
Duchesse De Bourgogne is good as well.
Rodenbach Grand Cru is great but can be expensive.

Harder to find depending on where you are:
Jolly Pumpkin makes a good assortment of sour beers.
Russian River (though probably not available where you are) make the best sour beers.
The Bruery makes good ones as well (not sure if available by you or not)

Had Deesko by 3F a while back. Actually a berliner weisse but had some sour qualities to it

Deschutes Hop Henge Experimental IPA (IIPA).
An amazing nose. Loads of tropical fruits (mango, papaya) and citrus (orange and tangerine) with a little peach thrown in. Unfortunately the palate doesn't live up to the nose. The first note on the palate is some peach and orange but quickly, some bitterness come washing through with grapefruit rind, and floral bitterness. A little malt is there as well.

Overall it is a pretty good IIPA. The nose is a 95 but the palate is more like an 85. This pour was in an IPA glass and I will pour the 2nd half in a tulip glass to see if it changes the flavor profile at all.

Their standard IPA (Islander) is just ok. Their imperial IPA (Idiot) is better but still nothing special. I think that one of their seasonal IPAs (Sock Knocker) is worth buying to try at least once as it is a good IPA but still not great. Sadly their best beer that I have tried was their 19th anniversary IIPA but that came out over the summer. Most of their other beers are average at best. Almost forgot, their Stingray IPA is good but I have only seen it on tap. If you have questions about any of their other beers let me know.

Thanks pkt. I believe it was Islander that I saw. It had a gold medal award of some kind but I was suspicious considering I'd never heard of it. I'll skip it and keep and keep buying Ballast Point stuff for a while. Having a BP Grapefruit Sculpin right now.

Not a problem. Did you open the BP Victory at Sea yet? Also if you see some fresh BP Dorado (their IIPA) it is very good as well.

Might be a little sweeter from the tulip glass vs the IPA glass. Definitely getting more peach up front but still has a nice bitter finish. Maybe an 88 on the palate from the tulip glass.

Yes, I've had a couple bottles of Victory at Sea and I really enjoy that beer. As far as Dorado goes I'm not sure if we're getting it or not. So far just Sculpin, Grapefruit Sculpin, and Victory. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it though. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.

Now having Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout. Pretty good. I'd drink it again.

Is it illegal to drink a 750ml Victory Golden Monkey (9.5% ABV) in you car in a parking lot? Say, before going into a major motion picture? Hypothetically, of course.

After two Sierra Nevada Celebration Ales and some white wine, I'm now drinking bourbon eggnogs in antique Christmas glasses. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's hangover at all.

Keys to avoiding hangover
1. Drink water in between each alcoholic drink
2. Drink a lot of water (at least 1 water bottle) when done drinking
3. If needed take some advil or aleve before going to bed

That pretty much always works for me. I can't remember the last time I had a hangover.

I can vouch for water and ibuprofin. But a hangover is different from person to person. My wife and I went to a Christmas party and she had a few IPA's and a few shots of whiskey and vodka. I had double the shots and triple the beers. She was "spinny" at the end of the night and slept until noon, I picked the kids up at grandmas the next morning at 830. For me a hangover is a headache and/or being unsure about tacos for breakfast.

Souther Tier 2XMASS. Very spicy Christmas brew. I didn't realize it was 8.5% until I already had three though. Oops.

I haven't tried this yet. How is it?

I think it's very good. The chocolate and coffee are very pronounced but not in a bad way. Yet at the same time it may border on dessert beer territory. It has a nice creamy mouth feel. I can drink a four pack of many stouts but this a two pack at best. But it's a very tasty two pack. Definitely recommend.
