Have you had previous vintages? If so how does it compare? If not, what did you think of the 2013 vintage? Thanks.

I have not, but I knew that it's always been considered a great value. Lots of blueberry and a bit of leather. Overall very good, but from what I can tell 2013 wasn't as good as the 2012. I also think that I'm just not as big of a fan of Garnacha.

I went to a local brewery for happy hour, Firefly Hollow. Drank an red ale and an IPA. Came home and ate two fried egg sandwiches for dinner. Went to the gym and played volleyball for two hours. Trying not to throw up.

If anyone ever comes through town for a studio tour, this is where we'll drink afterwards.

So I never hit up the cigar bar right down the street from me due to a smoke allergy but date night tonight took me there just to see, no one is currently smoking and their selection is bomb! I had Wolf Among Weeds, Mosaic IPA, Traveler Pumpkin Ale, Continuum,... All the been bomb except Continuum, wouldn't get it again

Tonight SanTan MoonJuice IPA for me (it is a wheat IPA). The nose is wonderful with loads of tropical fruit, citrus and melon (probably a low to mid 90) but the palate falls short with mostly bitter grapefruit and orange rind and a little citrus and melon (more in the mid 80s). So overall it is pretty good but but nothing really special (that is unless you like smelling beers and not drinking them).

ETA: Also some peach on the nose as well. I really wish the nose had carried over to the palate.

I received a bottle of beer for driving a friend and his gf to their place of residence.

Shipyard Gingerbreadhead

Smells of straight gingerbread, which is good. However, there's nothing beyond a little molasses flavor at the start.

Not a good beer, but if they could get some flavor to the actual beer to go with the aroma, it'd be pretty dang good. Overall, still worth it not to just leave my friends in the street and letting them walk home, but it's closer than I'd readily admit.

Shipyard is an especially hit or miss brewery IMO... They have some really good adventures but they also have a number of straight terrible beers...
