Deschutes has some good beers (Hop Trip Pale Ale, Chasing Freshies IPA, Fresh Squeezed IPA, Hop Henge Experimental IPA, Obsidian Stout and Black Butte Porter), many ok beers and a few fantastic beers (The Abyss, and usually the Black Butte Porter Anniversary).

Stone Bourbon Barrel Aged Arrogant Bastard. Pretty good, you can tell it is a 3rd or 4th fill as the bourbon and oak are in the background. Definitely some nice hops and malt with some vanilla and cola flavors. Just a little oak and caramel. Good but nothing amazing.

What do you think of the Grand Cru? I generally like Alesmith beers but for some reason haven't bought the Grand Cru.

Good man. Growlers just arent the same after two days.

Very good beer. Caramel and some fruit tastes. Wish Ale Smith distributed to MI. I do have a 750 ml bottle of Horny Devil though.

I tried Evan Williams single Barrel for the first time. Good, not great. The nose makes you expect more kick than you actually get. Smoothed out, vanilla & caramel taste. Perfectly acceptable for what I paid (just under $30).

One of my kids recently turned 5, which was a convenient excuse to have a bunch of family and friends over for a party last Saturday. Had some good beers-- North Coast's Old Stock Ale, New Belgium's Abbey, Lagunitas' Lil' Sumpin' Wild, Weihenstephaner Hefe-weissbier, Oskar Blues' Old Chub Nitro, and my brother's homebrewed porter.

Also refilled the 5L bourbon barrel with a new concoction. This time it was 4.5 L of Bulleit Rye, brown & white sugar simple syrup, and a mix of Orange, Lemon and Peychaud's bitters. Early returns have been very promising.
