I see why you like it. Not super malty, light. Good IPA. Clown Shoes has achieved Stone status for me...if I see a beer by them in the store that I havent had, I'll try it with no second thoughts. Just a great brewery.

Yep, I haven't had a bad beer from them. I have five Clown Shoes left to try that are readily available here, Clementine, Chocolate Sombrero, Blaecorn Unidragon, Undead Party Crasher (bought it and I had it's predecessor Vampire Slayer), and hoppy feet. Next up will be Hoppy Feet and Clementine for me in the next week or two.

Now my last Founders Double Trouble, thank God. Parts of the beer are nice but I get some notes of raw sugar and raw vegetable that are a slight turn off.

How did they blow it? Forget the Gin or forget the fizz?

Stone IPA.

Tasted like he got those two things but forgot everything else . Asked for egg white float (silver fizz) and I think he shook everything once with the ice. As opposed to shaking everything and then adding ice and shaking again. So it was like a gin and tonic with flat egg whites on top. Anyhow, it sucked. Haha.

I took a chance on Smooth Ambler Old Scout 7 y/o bourbon. I really enjoyed their rye, but I was hesitant to grab this at $36 bottle. It's harder to take a shot on an unproven when I can grab Eagle Rare or Buffalo Trace for under $30. But I figured what the hell, and I was very happy with the result. The Old Scout made me think of Eagle Rare: it has the smooth balance but with a full-bodied taste that keeps your attention. Good stuff. I was between this and Jefferson's bourbon for the same price.

It's tough to find a great mixologist , but when I do find one I like to stay put for the night. Recently my wife and I along with my best friend and his gf did the kentucky bourbon trail and one night at dinner we found a Gem! I don't know how many old fashions we drank but we had a blast!

Bar Tonique in New Orleans is a must if you ever go there. Place makes great cocktails. The Ramos Gin Fizz I had there was dynamite.

Agree and agree!

Having an Absolute Hibiscus and Diet Coke - the min bottles have been on sale in NC for about a year for .95c - its a good mix.

Nice work. Three great breweries. Love the Atmosphere at RB. You go to Jolly Pumpkin? Personally not a fan of their beers but its a pretty cool place.

At first scan I thought your post was "Didn't eat a right brain though."

I'm glad I took time to re-read.

If he did, would that make him more rational & analytical or more creative & expressive? I always get the brain hemisphere characteristics mixed up. I guess I'm no-brained.

"So do you consider yourself more right-brained or left-brained?"

"Durrrr, Cabbage!"

No, I didn't go to Jolly Pumpkin. Maybe on my next visit up there I will stop. Looking forward to going back up.

Note to self: Develop a rough screenplay for two groups of Zombies. One group is on a strict right brain diet, the other on left-brain. Follow the groups to note any changes in behavior and social interaction.

I took a scientifically valid and accurate test on the internet. Apparently I am bi-brained.

Do you realize how many pictures of exposed boobs there are on the internet? And you're taking tests? Sorry, buddy, but you're doing the interweb wrong. Ditch the brain development. Embrace the boobs.

so my 21st is coming up within the month... what should my first legal drink be?

I would vote Single Malt Scotch (or for that matter bourbon), though a great draft beer or an Old Fashioned would work as well. You could also do a White Russian, a Gin and Tonic if it is hot or a martini.

Today I picked up a six pack of Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Extra Ale. It is an imperial version of the Little Sumpin' Sumpin'. I will report back tonight on how it tastes.

Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Extra. A hoppier version of the Sumpin' Sumpin'. The wheat takes a little more of a backseat but there is some nice citrus, and piney hops. Overall I really enjoyed it.
