Russian River Blind Pig IPA
That’s a good beer.
Russian River Blind Pig IPA
Found the last bottle (of my local store's shipment) of this year's Bourbon County Brand last night. Not a big fan of Goose Island, but they do this right. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend possibly.
Of the OG stuff? I swear that we never run out down here and that HEB just took last year's off the shelf a month ago

I was super depressed to find HEB isn't in El Paso.... I'm losing Cali Mex, Del Taco and El Polo Loco AND I'm not gaining HEB!?!
I'm gonna be a Pilgrim in a savage land.
Small rural area. Craft beer is really just getting it's foot in the door. While many younger people are getting into it and such, this is still very much a "macro' area. I know some of our stores are doing better with variety and such, but even so they can't afford to overstock craft when most people want Miller Lite, Bud Light, Yuengling (which is local and amazing), etc.

That's another strange thing about El Paso I have already noticed just from visting over teh years... for a large American city it's pretty hard to track down anything craft. They have a store called Specs which is like Bev mo! but that's it... all the large grocery stores carry a ridiculous amount of Bud Light like that's all the city drinks. The Beer section will legitimately be a whole isle long, one little section of Sierra Nevada and standard hefe, maybe some Mikes hard lemonade and then literally 50 feet of Bud Light.... I'll have to take pictures of this one day. Blew me away, and then you see people walking around with carts of like four 30 packs of Bud Light... savage land.
Specs is pretty solid. I wonder if the reason El Paso hasn't been hit by craft is due to the heavy Hispanic population? It's also not near most of the craft breweries in Texas, which are all out my way.
I guess you'll be my stop on my way to Phoenix to drink all of Whiskey's beer. You got a spare couch?
We got Yuengling here...I have it from time to time but do not understand the hype.
Agreed with NoDak on Yuengling. It's fine, but I didn't love it or anything.
When do you officially move ACamp? Or have you already
Wife and oldest have been out there for weeks now... the little one and I go out in two weeks and she stays there. I may or may not stay at that point but I'll most likely come back for a month or two. We decided it would be dumb to just give up all the holiday pay that is fast approaching and then why not get a few more pay checks after that?? I haven't landed a full time job out there yet so yeah, why not... so long to short, dafaq if I know... but by March at the latest I should be out there one way or the other.
Gotcha haha...
Good luck, and hope you do secure one quickly! On your way down there, you could even catch some spring training if you don't go until later.
The plan is to go to Spring training and meet up with my family each year... Phoenix is the mid way point and we have been talking about going out there for Spring Training for years anyway. ON that note, the El Paso minor league park in downtown looks super baller by typical minor league standards. I passed it a few weeks ago, they are the Padres minor league team and the park is a mock up or PetCo Park. It had the warehouse (though theirs is in right and not left) and everything, we have a minor league team in town here too and our park is laughable in comparison to the one in El Paso. At least upon first glance...
Isn't it pretty new too? Sounds pretty sweet of a deal then. Best of luck with it all
The GI bourbon county brand stout release is a big deal here. If you want to get any vaiants of it you have to stand in line. I did a bit of scavenging and standing in line for the release this year. Landed 6 bottles of the regular BCBS and 3 variants. Midnight orange, bramble and barleywine with coffee. The midnight orange and barleywine required a 25 minute wait in a line with getting rained on. We go to Florida every May and the total wines store near siesta key has cases of the regular BCBS sitting on the floor, lol.
I’m probably in the minority here but I don’t think the BCBS is that great.

It's alright, not amazing. There are too many great options for BA Stouts for it to get the kinda hype it does.
