My local brewer has Amoretti (sp?) purees and offers them in his Sour and Hef's. On Friday's I go in and order Eggplant Rollatini from the Italian joint next door and have his Sour + Blood Orange puree. The regulars then raz me for drinking Mancoolers.

Besides that, I'll pass on sours.

Surprised they didn't raz you for eating the most feminine Italian dish ever. :)

There's nothing wrong with the way Italians make eggplant. They're the only people in the world who can get me to stomach it.

I was half way joking. My mom makes eggplant lasagna as well that I very much enjoy. Rollatini isn't bad. A proper Italian joint would call it involtini though IIRC. It is a chick dish though lol.

I'm not a huge eggplant fan myself, but I can dust off a plate of breaded/fired eggplant cooked fried green tomato style.

Damn straight

A Guava IPA by 4th Tap. Good amount of flavor, just not feeling it tonight.

Sours are huge right now. They've discovered a type of beer that people who don't like beer enjoy drinking.

This is true though that doesn’t mean people who like beer should be adverse to sours... I love my IPAs, hefes, and such but have been all in on the gose craze... love them.

The Langunitas Cherry Jane sour I had recently was fantastic... I do get it’s a very different tasting style tho and you have to enjoy pretty extreme taste profiles. I think my hot sauce love affair prepared me for sours. The bolder the flavor the better.

ABW Wizardry. I was way too hyped about this beer, merely a solid barrel aged stout.

With all you guys paying high dollars on IPA and Sours to kill Merica's big beer, I'm paying tribute to the poors tonight with Bud Light.

The GF and I tried a few 10-20 dollar bottles from ATL's INTL Farmer's market late last year. Think we might have picked up a bottle or two from Total Wine as well. I'm a Pinot Noir guy mostly, but the Douro's where a nice change. I do enjoy the ports from that region as well.

It’s opressively hot... I need a beer that’s good on a hot day. Main market I’m thinking Dos Equis or Modello... higher end I’m thinking Anderson Valley Gose... any recommendations for good beer on a hot day??

Anderson Valley Gose’s are good.

Also Modern Times Fruitlands (also a gose).

Hefe? Weihenstephaner should work as well.

Buffalo Bayou Figaro, a quad with figs. Basically similar to the Trappist quads but much smaller in body and not as dark.

I think we are seeing cycles of trends though. IPAs were the big one for a little while, but I've noticed more and more sours being produced lately. Also, NEIPAs are turning up more, they're quite delicious.

Sours don't go well with cigars, though. If I'm drinking something, I'm probably smoking something.

I used to love Upland Wheat, it had that green-apple tinge to it. About the only "light" beer I enjoyed. Well, that and Oberon.

Stone Woot Stout, not nearly as sweet as the last bottle I had (3 years ago). Pretty sure I posted about it in this thread, it was rough having more than 6 oz

So i signed up for Tavour recently. They release so many beers a day/week (from breweries all over) and you decide if you want them and how many. Then when you're ready they ship your "crate." Two of my buddies are in on it with me, we'll split the costs 3 ways.

Anyone ever use them? If no one has, I'll let people know how it was, my crate is being sent out on the 8th.

Mike Hess Grapefruit Solis

Sand Diego hoppy + grapefruit = a good case of bitter beer face.

Check out the can though. Should be standard on every premium craft. Mickey's Big Mouth ain't got nuthin on these.
