First, I want to say that I hope that I am not stepping on anyone's toes by starting this thread, I have posted elsewhere, and have gotten "This is person X's job, sorry we aren't answering".

With that being said, how do you guys see the game going? When do you see ND banging off the rust, and getting in gear? Final score? Players of the game?...etc

I will start by saying that I do not see Notre Dame looking past this game. By all accounts, ND seems to be focused, and primed to get the season rolling. Also, Skip Holtz is coming to town, and taking the field against a team the his father served as commander and chief, and accomplished a few good things. I don't see how our boys are going to look past this game.

I think ND uses Cierre Wood for the first quarter to settle the team in, and shake the opening day jitters. Jonas Gray scores the first TD, and Ruffer starts another streak. ND's defense has a few hiccups due to confusion, and SF gets a FG. The Irish go into the half up 10-3.

BJ starts the second quarter with an INT due to an ill advised pass while under duress . ND sticks to the game plan, and Cierre Wood takes 15+yrd carry to the house. ND 17-SF-3.

ND's defense stands tall, and mid-way through the second quarter BK opens up the play book, and MF inches closer to the record books putting ND up 24-3. SF gets 3 and enters the half down 24-6.

2nd half: ND comes out strong, and Ruffer hits his 2nd of the game putting ND up 27-6. SF scrapes out a TD, and gets 10 unanswered points making it 27-16 late in the third. Theo Riddick comes up big, and puts the game out of reach 34-16. Ruffer hits another FG. And ND's defense shuts SF out til the closing mintues when SF gets some garbage points.

ND wins 37-23.

Crist finishes 17-22 2Td's

C.Wood: 113 Yards on 20 carries

KLM gets player of the game, as he is key in holding BJ to 35 yards rushing on 9 attempts. Plus 2 sacks

17 of 22? Doubtful.

Notre Dame 31
South Florida 16

I see BK controlling on the backs of Jonas, and Cierre. I have no facts to back this at all, but I think Dayne still may have some accuracy issues, and needs to keep his psyche in tact, especially for the Michigan venue. Dayne does start to open up as the game progresses, but ND already has the game in check, so there is really no need to unleash the dogs.

24-14, though it won't be as close as it appears. I think USF will score a late game TD to bring them within ten, but it'll be too late to matter.

I think after the Navy and Tulsa games BK with preach to these guys about being ready to play ball. If we get beat by a better team thats one thing but to beat your self is another. I think that Kelly's offense and Coach D's defense will be good this year. I am very excited to see some of the youngs get there chance to carry on the winning ways of Notre Dame Football. I say 28-13 Crist going 16-25 with 196 yards 2 TDs 1 Int. And Wood has a break out game 18 carries 135 yards 1 TD. And Jonas gets one td.

Im gonna say 27-17. I think we will see a lot of Cierre Wood and a lot of short passes in the 1st quarter to get the jitters out. Cierre Wood gets a touchdown from inside the 10 to make it 7-0 at the end of the 1st. In the 2nd quarter, I think Brian Kelly will open it up a little bit and we will get Floyd involved. Floyd will get a touchdown and we will also get 2 field goals. 13-3 at the half. in the 3rd and 4th quarter with a comfortable lead we will run the ball a lot and control the line of scrimmage. Cierre Wood gets another touchdown and I think Riddick will get one too. South Florida will score their points in the fourth. On defense, I think we will get pressure against their unproven o-line and I think the pressure could lead to an interception.

I want to see this game be like the game against Nevada in 09 where ND dominated all day.

I think your prediction should be something like 34-17 because you said Wood will have two TD's, Floyd will have one and so will Riddick. That is already 28 then add the two FGs, puts it at 34. Other than that, I agree.

Irish win 108-3

-Dayne Crist 32-34 for 578 yards and 6 TD's, no INT
-Everett Golson (in garbage time) 3-3, 56 yards passing, 67 yards rushing on 4 attempts
-Floyd 24 Rec 370 yards, 3 TD, 40 rush yards on a reverse
-Wood 389 yds on 41 carries, 4 TD (1 fumble)
-Riddick 135 return yards (on 2 kick returns. Only 2 b/c USF only scores once.)

Defense gives up -2 pass yds and -29 rush yards (mostly due to Lynch's 6 sacks) and 0 first downs.

USF scores a garbage FG after Cierre Wood drops the ball out of exhaustion (from running for 389 yards) at the ND 3, defense holds USF to 3 and out, giving up -15 yards (sacks by Te'o and Nix. Nix's hit sends Daniels to the ER). On the FG attempt, Nix blocks the kick, but the ricochet hits the kicker so hard in the helmet it bounces and flies ~30 yards for a FG.

We are immediately crowned National Champions, and Lou Holtz is cured of his lisp.

The Heisman trophy is simply awarded to "Notre Dame"

Tom Hammond's flight home from Korea crashes over that freaky LOST island. Luckily for him, his makeup protected his face, and he survived the crash. Luckily for us, he never returns. Gus Johnson receives a phone call from Brian Kelly, who convinces him to do play-by-play for NBC. I can imagine it now:

"Crist with the paASSSSSSS!!! TAACHDDOWWWNNN! OH MY GOOOOODNESS!"

Notre Dame fans rejoice. Mark May has an intense conversion, and he and Holtz pick Notre Dame in every game for eternity. Oddly enough, they will always be right.

Touchdown Jesus, after a few years, becomes National Championship Jesus, in which he is holding the National Championship trophy with an ND t-shirt on.

Adidas creates Tech-Fit v2, which makes the wearer invisible. This gives Notre Dame even more of an advantage.

South Bend is named the capital of the World, and Brian Kelly its king.

God I can't wait til September 3rd. 13 MORE DAYS !!!1!1!!1!

You missed everything. DGB, Mahone, both Marshalls, Jarron Jones, Arik Armstead, Andrus Peat all commited to Notre Dame in the same weekend.
