I suck at quoting. LOL
Here are 25+ QBs I have seen play with my own eyes I think are either obviously better or at least arguably better. Since you said definitely all I need to do is make an argument that 25 are arguably better
Alright here you go.
Clearly better
Boyd
Mariotta
Bridgewater
Manziel
McCarron
Goff - No
Sudfield - No
Shaw - ehhhhhh.....
B. Miller
Scheelhaase - No
Gardner
T. Kelly
Derek Carr
Petty - No... hasn't shown anything, product of awesome offense.
Winston
Murray
Hogan
Arguably Better
K. Guitton - Come on... backup QB who played one decent game. Let me guess, you're also high on Matt Flynn?
Belldozer - No... couldn't even beat out a red shirt frsoh. Come on. Has played 1 game against Tulsa.
Mettenberger - No.
Mannion - Definitely better than Rees.
Hackenberg - No. Seriously? True freshman and has looked shaky against bad competition so far.
Mayfield - No.
Keith Price UW - Yes.
Connor Wood - Seriously?
Taylor Martinez - Ok.
JW Walsh - No.
Mayfield - Are there two Mayfields?
Haven't seen play but could be better based on stats.... jus
Chuckie Keeton
Blake Bortles
Wyomings QB
Joe Southwick
I'm forgetting a couple more I'm sure.
Hundley - Yes.
Fales - Yes.
Are you insane?? What do you think Monte Carlo sims are??? LOL....I actually work in Retirement planning and every freaking broker and insurance provider uses backtesting to predict future results...
For the record, Qunn and Jimmy also couldn't win jack. How many bowl wins?
You barely got to 25 with a couple obvious ones that are ridiculous... namely Hackenberg and Guitton... and in general you're naming a lot of guys who WILL or COULD be better than Rees but haven't shown it yet and there is no way the staff would rather have them at the helm. Would almost be like saying Zaire > Rees. Take out Hackenberg and Guitton and you're at 27 even with all of your stretches. And most people wouldn't accept the stretches.
Then you should grasp the concept that looking at past data when conditions have changed is not valid. This is a common principle that most people grasp... whether projecting fantasy stats for the new Chip Kelly offense or doing scientific experiments or picking stocks... data is not of any value or relevance if the conditions are not the same/similar.
And I have no idea what you're talking about with Clausen/Quinn. I thought we were discussing QB play? Quinn played well enough to be a Heisman finalist and 1st round draft pick, Clausen played well enough to be the 2nd QB off the board in his year. Are you going to say they were bad college QBs? Really?
I'll give you Hackenberg but I don't think you've seen Guitton play. He would start on 90% of other teams, including our own. Wood is a stud on a team no one cares about. The point isn't that Rees is definitely NOT a top-25 QB. It's that you can't say that he definitely IS either.

I think he's dead on. Remember, Rees doesn't have the playmaking ablity. Very vanilla.
I'm sure most coaches would take Guittons ablilty right now, over Tommy.
No, I said they didn't win jack. I loved BQ
Can we just change the name of all the threads to "Tommy sucks"?

Name 25 better. Go.

Yeah... exactly... what the **** was the point of saying that?
Really? SMH
Just so everyone knows...
Reesus is on pace to break the Notre Dame record for passing yards in a season.
And, using my own god damn eyes and brain, he's played fantastically this season. Why are we even talking about this?

Longo sucks for not making Tommy a dual threat quarterback, I mean mobile quarterback.
Lol, nice!

Isn't that exactly what Bellicheck said about ND?
Yes. 56% comp, 2 INT's (both critical) and a 40 QBR.
He sucked
Manziel, TAMU

Gardner, Mich.
Shaw, S.C.

Like many football fans, Pat attributes full credit for both wins and losses to QBs, confounding variables be damned.
We didn't win convincingly enough against Temple and Purdue, THEREFORE, Rees sucks. QED.
And the guy you said was the #1 QB(Goff) had a 40.8 QBR with 3 interceptions against Northwestern! Does(did) he suck too? Or does he pass your eyeball test and therefore gets a pass?
You stated the day EG was suspended that we aere doomed because we now have to rely on Tommy. Now that Tommy has played well you are saying anything you can to prove that point as being accurate.
Tommy Rees has nothing to do with the way this team's struggles.
The argument was whether or not his average or not. I think he is.
Then why bring up Quinn and Clausen "not winning jack"? Those are two of the best QBs ND has ever had. They rewrote the record books. The only way they're relevant to this discussion is if W/L record is the ultimate metric for QB quality.
And Rees' stats prove he's much better than average. None of his detractors here have been able to name 25 QBs that are better without tossing in a handful of major reaches.
Our team has some problems to work out, but Rees ain't one of 'em.
