Cole Leinart, yes, Matt’s son, just committed to SMU, class of 2026. Shit, I feel really old now.

I can unders a 3 star going to Auburn but Auburn must be playing a shit load of cash for these players.
I think Arnoux has a pretty good reputation locally, he plays at Carrollton which is pretty solidly in the Auburn orbit both geographically and in familiarity to the program. With a JuJu flip on the horizon, I wouldn’t be shocked if Arnoux wasn’t inclined to stick around for his current teammate’s sake anymore

When thinking of the Notre Dame beat, there isn’t anyone less knowledgeable of Notre Dame football than Fortuna
Fortuna was fine when he covered Notre Dame as his job for ESPN. But that was a long time ago. Listening to the podcast he and Sampson do now for The Athletic, he has no particular access or sources. At most he attends a couple of games a year, and probably knows less about the day-to-day of the program than most of us do.

Sampson also bugs me. He has an "I'm too good to be here" vibe. I think he has a balanced view and is insightful, just a bit smug.

If this gets them out of the Riley contract and they end up hiring Cignetti, I'm going to be pissed.
I dont think Cignetti would take that job, not really his style. Just popped into my head but I could see him staying at Indiana and waiting for the PSU job to open up. He would kill it there.

IMO, a coach like Cignetti is exactly what USC needs so I hope they keep going after the newest offensive wunderkind to squeeze 2% more production from their cast of five star skill players.

Yeah, I think Cignetti would absolutely crush it at USC. He'd be the grown up in the room the program has needed for the past decade.

Worst case scenario, IMO.

If ND crushes them I could see them firing him. Especially if they can figure out how to for cause due to being on probation
