Caleb Williams is really really fucking good. Like #1 overall pick quality good. They might go undefeated despite all of their flaws just because of him.
I think he wins the Heisman in my waaaaay too early Heisman poll.

Seems they go for it every 4th down when in their territory. Our DB's are gonna have their work cut out, won't have enough time to get to the QB.

SC is an example of what a quality HC & the transfer portal can do to a program in the matter of 12 months.
Portal + NIL = U$C being very relevant for awhile. The BiG10 should be interesting and entertaining.

Idk, after watching that half, against the best team they've played thus far....very whelming. IMO.

Lincoln Riley really must be shitting himself that they're going to the Big 10. His teams are going to get physically demolished if this doesn't turn around quick in recruiting.

It's similar along the defensive line- from 2020 to the 2023 class, USC has signed/committed 3 blue chip defensive linemen (Korey Foreman, Jay Toia, and Braylon Shelby (a '23)). ND has signed/committed 7 blue chip defensive linemen (Rylie Mills, Gabe Rubio, Tyson Ford, Aidan Gobaira, Brenan Vernon, Devan Houstan, and Boubacar Traore)

2023 3 Star DL flipping to UCLA. Apparently USC is going to drop more recruits before signing day as they chase transfers over HS recruits

This is the future or the present really. Teams signing between 15-18 guys and chasing another 10-12 in the portal.
The sad thing is you have to assume if they are telling kids thanks but no thanks right now, it must mean that they heard back from a kid who probably isn't in the portal that he is interested in coming which would mean tampering.

Addison is the only proof you need that tampering is a thing here, but I don't believe that is unique to any program in this current NIL world we live in.

Not defending USC but it’s not necessarily tampering. You use a third party intermediary and it’s all kosher. This is what ND is doing with Card right now.

As long as the ncaa allow Lincoln Riley to steal All Americans every year, and promise them starting jobs with pay, the high end high school recruits will not have a shot to start and should be seeing this as a no win situation. These 4 and 5 stars may never see the field ,example, CJ Williams , and leave. The Notre Dame staff should be pitching this message.

The remedy might be to move NSD up. Force teams to attempt 85. Then fill-in the gaps.

Taking CJ always felt more like a thumb in the eye of ND and a Mater Dei relationship thing than it did Riley actually wanting a kid he didn’t even offer when he was at Oklahoma.
Seems like a situation where if ND was in California, Williams would've been a lock.

I will believe ND signs a recruit out of Mater Dei when I see it. Same applies for Long Beach Poly.
The Trinity League is loaded with talent. There is no reason why we can’t sign a few. It may be grades or kids do not want to commit to the academic side.

Since the Mater Dei coach just retired, hopefully that USC pipeline ends.
I don't see how Rollinson retiring makes a difference. I believe he have a kid who went to ND and he was generally on good terms with ND.

If there was anyone who would give ND a puncher's chance in that school, it'd probably be someone like him.

I think the reality is that you have a blue blood program literally right next door in a very appealing part of the country, with all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood in the backdrop. That's hard to turn down.
