Lived in SoCal all my life not near downtown LA thank goodness but many things to love about it but wouldn’t wish it on anyone to raise a family in the city. Suburbs are fine. Food, shopping diversity, weather are unmatched but an expensive state to live in. Add to that douches from USC are everywhere and it is painful during a year ND loses to SC. Thankfully we spanked them and I can proudly wear my ND swag everywhere I go and search out the SC fans.

OMG I remember those years. Having recruited Jimmy Clausen, such a potentially great college QB with incredible accuracy....but man that poor boy was mugged game after game. That OL couldn't protect him at all. They would then draft up plays to roll him out of the pocket to give him an extra second and it was a waste of time. Awful pass protection his whole career at ND.

I never heard that it was from Calabrese’s dad but he did have a black eye. The story given was that it happened at a bar and was in defense of his girlfriend.

I remember Sullivan hiking it over Clausen’s head among other things. I get that Jimmy was a douche. I remember tailgating at the UNC @ ND game in 2014. We chatted up an ND alum who was a student-trainer for the team. Needless to say she & her fellow student-trainers weren’t allowed to touch Jimmy. She tried not to bash him too much but he was so coddled when he got there that it was impossible.

Still, you don’t do what Sullivan did assuming it was purposeful which was the rumor. Sully went on to a nice NFL career despite that 2007 season and was even named to the Pro Bowl IIRC.
