1. It is USC
2. A Heisman Trophy winner getting pounded bad.
3. Freeman was jacked after the game.

If Freeman was happy, I am happy. Love the energy. It would be very Notre Dame to NOT storm the field, frankly. The program needed that win. The defense was so dominant.

I think it was worth a field storming.

That was a Top 5 defense giving them a hard butt kicking. Too bad they weren't that tough against OSU or Ville.

It’s gotta be Mo Crum Jr vs UCLA in ‘07 right? Of course, that was such a forgettable season that it’s easily overlooked.

2 INTs, 2 fumble recoveries (incl a scoop n score), 1 forced fumble, 2 PBUs and a sack

Amazing.

Charlie Weis would go to McDonalds every morning at 5am and order 2 double quarter pounders and 2 large milkshakes and devour it in about 10 minutes (allegedly). It’s amazing he’s still alive.
I’ve heard stories of Choo Choo Chuck choking out the Hamburgler when he tried to steal his quarter pounders. Also heard Grimmace tried jumping in and Chuck handed a whoopin there too….

It would have been even more exciting and awesome (but not as dominating of a win) if we had a game like last year that went back and forth with Hartie throwing the game winner to someone like Rico or Faison, but we would have needed a killer O for that to have happened!

It is amazing that there are still Charlie Weis apologists here. 3-9, 7-6, 6-6 in consecutive years. Horrible, soft defenses every year. Poor OL play every year. Lost to a 2-8 Syracuse team with a lame duck coach at home. He was a terrible, terrible coach.

And I believe the longest ND run during his time was the 60 yard scramble by Quinn vs. USC. No ground game explosiveness

Not me. I prefer a good old fashioned ass kicking and was hoping Estime would bust it on the last series so we could have hung 55 on them.

What a fantastic performance by the defense overall. That D-Line play brought back memories of the Joe Yonto years! I've re-watched the game 3 times now.

I think Joey was Ara’s favorite.

I don’t see apologists… but people that realize he left the program better than he got it. He was not a good head coach though

But he left ND with improved talent, a training table, and the start of facility improvements that Kelly took and expanded on

Waiting to see what the big program improvement will be under freeman, we need it

The big improvement under Freeman will be a bowl trophy that isn’t named after a sandwich topping.

Well done. In that clip, CW reads Middle of Field Closed pre-snap ("MOFC") and looks at the curl at the bottom of the screen post snap. I can't see the route the #2 receiver runs, but it looks like they're trying to high-low the boundary corner. The problem for USC is that ND rotated to Middle of Field Open ("MOFO") post-snap and has a safety to take the #2 receiver going high while the boundary corner takes the curl going low.

What makes this really work though is the D line pressure. Without that, CW would have had time to shift to the secondary route combination on the field side. The combination of coverage rotation (confuses CW which route combination he should start with) and excellent pressure from the D line made this gameplan shine.

I'm not educated so I don't know if that's correct, but I like it.

Ross Browner was a monster!
Had the pleasure of seeing many of the guys in that video, as they celebrated the 50th anniversary of that ‘73 championship last weekend. Browner was truly a man child, sadly gone too soon. Luther Bradley looks like he could play right now.

The other component is ND would have one rusher or two go all out to get to Caleb then the rest to contain lanes

I don’t know which McDonalds it was, but they definitely made burgers and shakes for Weis. That part’s a fact. Scarfing it down like a starving Ethiopian was alleged.

Doesn't McDonalds have limited menus they serve at all times? I can't recall the last time I got a burger for breakfast but I feel like it can be done? Especially for a Notre Dame coach lmaooo

They did it for Weis because of who he was, but they also serve items that aren’t on the menu like birthday cake.
