In the off-season I thought 6-2 was probably the most likely outcome after the first 8 games, so I’d be lying if I said the season has been a failure so far. Still a long way to go and not 1 of the remaining 4 games is an automatic win. Hopefully the offense can clean things up during the bye week.

1. Xavier Watts! GET THIS MAN SOME NIL MONEY!

2. Lincoln Riley is still the softest coach in CFB and I don't think he's long for LA. Maybe he makes a move to the NFL this year or next.

3. Offense is still a train wreck. They had one real drive, one short field drive, and then a bunch of crap. Bye week is coming at a good time.

4. Al Golden is probably the most underappreciated DC that ND has had in awhile. The narrative on him hasn't been kind but the results are there. With a competent offense ND is a comfortable 8-0.

5. I did not have "Jadarian Price 100 yard KO TD" on my bingo card.

Great team win. But let's not confuse the 48 points for a good offensive performance.
Only 2 long drives I think. The defense and ST just did an unreal job tonight to put points on the board and set us up. They were not losing this one.

I have zero problem with storming the field ever. College is about making memories. Let these kids have fun.
College football has tried so hard to ruin everything that makes the sport special and it’d be tragic if they found a way to kill this too.

1,000%. I rushed the field against Utah when the team sucked and it was just as much fun as rushing the field undefeated in 2012.

Ok 2012 was more fun, but still.

Great team win. All around performance by the players AND the coaches. Al Golden take a bow. Gerry called a good game, special teams flashed. These men just went through a grinder and played incredibly well tonight. No doubt MFMF has the men dialed in and prepared. Kudos coach.

How badly will Oregon and Washington beat USC later in the year?

I’m the opposite. Didn’t get to watch last week, watched everything today. Will also take Cash/Venmo to pay off my wife so I can watch every game.
Maybe we should swap... if you're into that kinda thing. Lol

I was hoping for some changes in the last week just because Hartman should be able to handle it since all he's doing is auditing a handful of classes. But I knew that was probably unlikely; here's hoping the next two weeks see some differences. The 2007 Chicago Bears are not a good recipe for sustained success.

great game D and watts especially

Clear question is do you make obvious changes now or after season? Hopefully now, offense can only play with a solid lead

Al Golden earned his yearly paycheck in one game tonight. The scheming and use of personnel was absolutely outstanding tonight. The pass rush design for this one was fantastic, and had Williams bottled up all night long. The offense didn't have to do much tonight, but the OL performed much better, and the play design on the deep post to Tyree was excellent. Even the special teams came up big with Price's kickoff return touchdown and Shrader having a perfect night. And Xavier Watts - a game for the ages. Active all night long and made a ton of plays.

Only negatives tonight were the FG at 38-20 when they should have punched it in, and the taking knees at the end. Wanted the full extent of this beatdown to be felt by Williams, Riley and all of fUSC for a full year.

Excellent job by the players and staff shaking off last week's crap fest. Great way to go into a bye week.
