To me it sounds like Sheriff Haden is erring on the side of caution.

Because they are a top 5 team with a great chance to return to the BCS Championship. With as slow as the NCAA investiagted and comes to decisions, this year will likely be over long before anything is handed down. Smart move by Oregon in my opinion to try and keep momentum going for another year before their hand is forced into action.
