- FSU assistant coach Chuck Amato noted during the team's spring alumni tour that UM has had eight football coaches and Florida seven since Bobby Bowden took over. ''They used all that negative recruiting and it didn't do much good,'' Amato told Noles fans. Bowden's son, Terry, announced: ``I'm so sick and tired of hearing about [Gators coach] Urban Meyer, it makes me want to vomit.''

---------At least the other coaches know what a scumbag he is.

The link appears to be a generic. Could you possibly post the entire article along with the context please?

Dee Finley (Auburn, Ala.) verbally committed to Urban Meyer and the University of Florida on Saturday while on an unofficial visit to the Gainesville campus. Finley, the No. 1 rated defensive prospect on the 2008 ESPN Watch List, had narrowed down his choices to Florida, LSU and Auburn. However, the Gators offered more than just a national championship atmosphere to the hard-hitting safety.

"It was the people and coaches at the school who sold me, not just football," Finley said. "The whole coaching staff is down to earth and seem to care about you as a person."

Is he talking about the same Urban Meyer that we all know and 'love'????

Kind of weird that the Cockwad would take a Safety like Finley ahead of a RB like Jonas Gray, considering that Florida picked up a boatload of elite Safety's last year. Knowing Urban's pattern, I would have to guess the major reason is to stick it in Auburn's face as Finley hails from Auburn HS. This would be typical Cockwad behavior.

Actions speak louder than words. They're a bunch of salesmen, who would sell their credibility to the highest bidder, if they could, if it meant getting that blue chip athlete.

I think it is kind of a "PR stunt" to be honest. He is basically telling recruits that OSU "should" have the best class, so if you commit to OSU, you should expect to commit to the top class in the country. He is trying to put OSU on the same level as Alabama in the eyes of the recruits.

my 2 cents at least.

Seems unusual that a coach of Meyer's caliber would but any stock into were the recruiting sites rank his or any other class.

Can he be disappointed he missed out on a player or to he wanted? Yes I'd say that makes sense but to say he is dissappointed to were his class got ranked by people at the recruiting sites that are not always right makes no sense to me.

urban has some very good recruiters on his staff...he added another one with larry johnson.

all great schools don't just have great head coaches that can recruit....their entire staff's can recuit at an elite level. that's the type of stuff that sets apart schools that have great classes year in and year out.

Looks like Urb is from the same (lack of) leadership school as a certain former president.

Chances are Urban flames out but him shaking things up at a franchise that has been historically bad may not be the worst approach.

Meyer could end up replacing Helton at USC. As fun as it is to read about him struggling, I'd rather him not crash out of the NFL.
