Huh. Idk why but I thought he was class of '15.
JT Barrett returning to college was worthy of USA Today and New York Times coverage? Interesting. I would think him declaring would have been the bigger news. He is not NFL material IMO.
Elijah Hood RB from UNC going pro
Ohio State players still to decide:
Curtis Samuel, RB
Marshan Lattimore, CB
Marcus Baugh, TE
Staying:
QB J.T. Barrett;
DE Jalyn Holmes;
DE Sam Hubbard;
DE Tyquan Lewis;
OG Billy Price

Happy we have Adams/Williams, but damn it would have been nice to hold onto him.

What about Adoree?
A list of officially declared underclassmen for the 2017 NFL Draft. I also offer my opinion on whether or not each prospect made a wise move by leaving school early. I will not factor financial considerations in my analysis because most players need the money.
Underclassmen Declaring for the 2017 NFL Draft - Jan. 7:
Noah Brown, WR, Ohio State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 218.
Projected 40 Time: 4.49.
Projected Round (2017): 2-3.
Noah Brown should part ways with whomever is advising him. Declaring for the 2017 NFL Draft is incredibly shortsighted on his part. Brown had a chance to be a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but as a redshirt sophomore, he's considered a Round 2-3 prospect because he's not ready to contribute right away. Brown has tons of upside, but caught only 32 passes in 2016. He would've gained a lot by returning to Ohio State. Instead, he's in danger of falling into the third round this April.
The Verdict: Bad move

Updated the OP.
Here is how E$PN has the top 50 2016 football players ranked. I know NFL teams will draft by position need but, where does this put Kizer and Folsten? Should they have stayed?
#CFBrank 2016 Clemson QB Deshaun Watson ends season as college football's No. 1 player
That's a ranking of who were the best players in college last year. They have little correlation with who will make great pros. I put little value in that list as a comparison to whether any prospect should or should not have declared.
10 or so are underclassmen too. So as to say as your statement that I have in bold, the question still stands, how good is Kizer to be in the pros when rated one of the top 3ish QBs to go in the first round but cannot beat out an underclassmen that is listed in the top 50.
Don't get me wrong, I see your point. But where does College talent coincide with PRO talent and how it is coached to that level. i.e., Brady taken in the 6th round..... 199th pick.
That wasn't your question. Your question was whether it was a mistake for him to declare.
Question wasn't is it a mistake for him to go pro.... question is who is telling him he's good enough to go pro.
Well.. Kizer has a first round grade. So you tell me. Sounds like the NFL is telling him.
I really don't get what point you're trying to make. Who cares about ESPN's list of the best college players?
I don't guess anybody cares. I thought it was a pretty cool article and why the speculation that Kizer would be one of the first three draft picks but is not in the top 50 best players in the NCAA - it was just a discussion and link I posted. Guess I expect too much from some on this forum that just can't have a normal conversation. If you didn't know what point I was trying to make and instead of asking and coming to your own conclusion... just don't reply to it....
